The main reason why we join the Wealthy Affiliate online education community is to learn how we can become our own boss and make money online in the multi-billion dollar per year Affiliate Marketing Industry. But did you know that there are multiple earning opportunities available to you here?

DIVERSIFY YOUR INCOME THROUGH WA

Though the main focus of Wealthy Affiliate is to teach us how to create a profitable internet business in affiliate marketing, we are also taught a few other aspects that on their own can earn us money. And what are these specific aspects of website creation that can produce income?

These are the core areas of knowledge that ALL website owners, whether they are affiliate marketing or not, need to possess in order to have a successful website. Keyword Research, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), WordPress, and Content Creation. If you know these, you can earn money.

Once we learn these things from the training here at WA and then apply them to our own websites, we set the foundation for our website business. Every single website owner needs to know these in order for their websites to thrive, especially through Google and the other search engines.

When we take these actions with our own websites over and over again, we should become quite knowledgeable in how things work. And for those who start seeing results in Google search with high and sustained rankings, this is proof that your knowledge can lead to income.

On the following pages of this tutorial I will show how and where I go to diversify my income from the knowledge I gain through the WA training courses. It will take time for your website business to start earning any substantial money. These alternate opportunities can help in both the short and long term.

Though I do recommend that you concentrate the majority of your time to get your affiliate marketing websites up and running, diversifying your income in the following ways can help to generate money. Other website owners will pay you for keyword research, SEO, WordPress and content creation.

Hello Rob,
I wanted to send a private message but thought posting my question here would benefit others as well.

I just started thinking about diversifying my income following the guidance presented in your article, so I as to be able to earn a side income while building out my website.

My questions are:
1. Do we have to sign a contract once hired for a job?

2. How do recruiters actually communicate with freelancers that are working outside their country?
Is Skype a professional way without utilizing the freelancer.com platform at all?

3. Is it okay or not necessary to know the details of the person you are working for? Like their company name etc.

4. How do one get paid?

5. How can I ensure the opportunity is legit not a scam?

I know my questions are more like an article now, but would sincerely appreciate your response and help regarding them.

Thank you very much.

You are welcome. Happy you liked my tutorial and see my answers below.

1. It would all depend on the type of job and what that company/person requires.

2. Skype and email are the two ways I communicated with clients in other countries.

3. You should ALWAYS know the details of the person and company you work for. Most times these details will be included in the job description, if not then make sure you ask before agreeing to do any work.

4. With the exception of local companies, every time I was paid was through PayPal. If PayPal is not an option for you and the client wants to pay through some other online payment method, make sure the payment processor used has no record of payment problems.

5. You have to do your research. Look up the company on Google, check out their website, and look for things that do not seem right. If you are unsure, ask questions. If they are hesitant in giving you clear answers, don't commit to work for them.

Hi, Robert,
I always like following your posts. I don't think many newbies know the amount of diversity Wealthy Affiliate have.

Even for a complete beginner with no skills in marketing and zero knowledge in websites and how to build one.

How, if they just stick at it how, much they can learn and then put into other money making opportunities. Of course it's going to take time but then so does everything when we have to learn something new.

The potential is endless. Not only that how they can go onto have not just one business but a few or even many with the multiple training we have and posts like this one of yours and all the others you share with us all.

Showing us all that we can earn online in so many different ways. So if we aren't good at one thing then there are other things we can do and we may excell in it.

Great post as always.

Thank you Robert.

That was well said Debs. I realized shortly after starting here at WA that the earning potential goes far beyond that of what we can make from our websites.

Every website in existence needs to have SEO if it wants to appear high in the SERPs. However there are so many website owners that do not know how to do this.

Seeing how we here at WA learn how to do keyword research and thus SEO for our own websites, we can make extra side money by providing this service to website owners who need it.

This is just one example out of many that many members here take for granted. We all can make extra money doing what we already do for our websites for the websites of others.

Thank you for sharing this as I never thought about using Craigslist as a place to look for side gigs for income (other than selling stuff), but it makes perfect since. While I didn't find any writing jobs in my area, it's nice to know that I can look in other areas on a map and look for the ones that say anywhere.

I really need to get back to freelance writing as I had dabbled in it about 2 to 3 years ago and I earned $80 in total from about 5 to 6 articles I wrote for a person on Upwork. I haven't since though because it's getting tougher to get accepted for work and I also kind of lost confidence in my writing abilities for other people, but not necessarily myself, but I've got to change that mindset and tell myself that I can write for others also.

I have not tried Upwork mainly because you can make more if you can get a gig with a small business looking for a writer. This is why I like Craigslist because you can find a broad range from the Upwork types to small businesses.

But I really like the Freelance Writing Jobs website because it lists opportunities from Craigslist, Blogging Pro, Indeed, Upwork and actual companies, like the United Way that I mentioned in the training above.

Once again I have learned so much from you!

I am familiar with Craig's list but I have never used it and never thought of using that platform as a source of revenue - what an eye opener!

The older I get the more I realize the importance of diversifying my income sources - actually everyone needs to be thinking in these terms. The days of working for one company for 30 years and retiring with a watch and pension are over.

The knowledge we gain here at WA provides a solid foundation for most any entrepreneurial endeavor.

Thank you so much for providing this training!

You are welcome. I am always searching for ways to help this community. When I try something outside of the box that works and I know other members can do the same, I am going to share it with the WA community.

I understand how people feel when they first come here. They are excited about starting their own business but really do not understand how much work goes into making it a reality. Kyle and Carson do their part to make things easier.

In my early months as a member I received much help in my affiliate marketing and SEO growth. And eventually received praise by those who helped me which built my confidence. Now I want to do the same and help others with ideas like this that work.

Robert,
Thank you a great way of diversifying our talents with
the training we are receiving here. I have one Local
SEO for a girl in my neighborhood that has her own
cleaning business at this time. Thank goodness she
is in no hurry to have this completed until next year
around springtime it is going to take some work :)
But your suggestions are fantastic and I will be looking
forward to checking into some of them in the near
future.

You are welcome Susan and congratulations on having that local SEO gig. That is how it all started for me. I had a local person that I knew with a website that needed SEO help. Once that was done my confidence in my abilities increased, and it has continued ever since.

It was my pleasure Keisha to share this information with the WA community and to be as clear and simple in my explanation. There are many people outside of WA that own websites but have no knowledge of SEO content writing. People will pay us to utilize our skills on their websites.
