Hi there,
I'm trying to create a home page and I'm following one of Jay's classes. When I log into Site Manager and click "edit a page" (it's the same for editing posts)
I think that's working OK. But I'm being taken to a strange WP page that limits my editing options. Sorry the explanation sounds so strange. I just know that the page that shows on Jay's video I different from the one I'm being given to work with.
No need to be sorry. Can you provide us with a screenshot or your website's URL to have a look? It maybe a theme issue

What's going on with my site manager?

Hey Nancy,
Jay is working with the Block Editor, so if you're using the Classic Editor you won't have the same options Jay is explaining in his video.
Also noticed that Jay doesn't state what theme he is using, so...
If you're using the Block Editor and do not seeing the same options as Jay is showing you, then going back to Jay's training and leaving him a comment asking for the name of the theme he's using may get you the answer you're looking for.
Technically, pages and posts are the same to Search Engines...
Though different in WordPress, only in order to help us users distinguish between the two...
Pages being things like our privacy polices that are only stated once.
Where posts are published on a regular basis and we can talk about the same thing from a different prospective for each post.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for responding and thanks for the link. I'm a very visual learner, so this was a real help!
when you open up your media content you add the image as normal and on the right-hand side there are several options. I am talking about where you add your alt tab it is underneath this it is called Attachment Display Settings underneath that it gives you the option to add a custom URL and this is where you put the address of your link. This will link to either your offer or another post. Copying the link as in the screenshot above will only link to its present address. If this doesn't make sense I have done a video training for you on this and I will find it
Thank you so much. I looked at this yesterday, but wasn't doing something right. It's working now!
Are you editing the post in Wordpress or in SiteContent? In wordpress you can just highlight the image and click the hyperlink button, just like with text links. You can also edit the image setting and there should be a field for a hyperlink.

It's been a rough few days. I have a monster cold that won't quit and I'm in slow motion. Sorry I'm getting back to you all so late. I appreciate each of you taking the time to respond.
I tried all recommendations and this is where I'm at for the moment.
I can submit may desired url by going in via searchconsole.google.com I'm assuming that means I don't need to resubmit but that could be wrong.
Someone from the Google Community just contacted me and I'll see what he as to offer.
In the meantime, by using a work-around, I'm still in business.

Google searching the prompt you received, it sounds like perhaps your site MAY need to be verified, again.
Here's why I am suggesting this MIGHT be the issue: https://support.google.com/webmasters/forum/AAAA2Jdx3sUdykpcesvUYE/?hl=en&gpf;=#!topic/webmasters/dykpcesvUYE
There were several forum discussions and some mentioned having to re-verify their site.
Hope you find this helpful.
When I went in to resubmit, I started by going to searchconsole.google.com and the page I needed popped up, so I just went with that.

I tried this, but it didn't work.
HOWEVER, since I'm working on a Chromebook, I learned something new thanks to you.
There is no row of "F" keys on Chromebooks, but there is a button that functions in the same way. Thanks to your recommendation, I did a search, and now the purpose of one little key is no longer a mystery to me!
