Configuration:
2. Ad Format again is the same as the previous ads we discussed. Grid will show a photo and text banner of four related products, list will have a clickable link list, and strip only provides two products. I prefer to use Grid, but feel free to play with the options as Amazon will display a preview of what your ads will look like.
3. Unlike in the previous Ad formats, the Custom ads asks that you enter a keyword search term. It will then display a list of products that meet that keyword, and you can then select the products from the list that you want to promote.
NOTE: The default display contains 4 products. But with the Custom ads, Amazon will allow you to ad as many products as you would like. I am unsure of the benefit of being able to ad multiple products, as it only displays 4. Possibly this is to help you choose products you're interested in, so you can later remove ones that aren't an exact fit.
4. Edit Title is similar to the title on the Search ads. Default is "My Amazon Picks" but you can customize it to display whatever you would like.
5. Advanced Settings
a. Ad Size: While I discussed this in the previous ad types, the format in the Custom ads is slightly different. You can choose responsive which will allow the ad to try and auto adjust to the size of your page, or in this case custom size will allow you to define exactly the height and width in pixels of your ad. Amazon does not give you a thumbnail preview based on custom sizes, so this may take some trial and error before you figure out what works best for your site.
b. Show Search Bar is identical to the option in the Search ads. In this case you only have the option to either display it or not. If you want the search bar, it will only be displayed below your selected products.
I have a question and a con to add, if you do not mind:
Question: say I configure an Amazon Native Custom Ads featuring 2 or more products, does it count as a single advertisement or as a multiple one? I am asking this in order to avoid being seen as a bridge site by Google.
Con: Prices do not match more often than not.
Having total control over products is great, but I have happened to advertise products costing 50 $, only to find out they were priced at 400$ or more.
My understanding is that Amazon does not pick the very same product that you intend to advertise, but the most expensive unit available.
Very many thanks in advance for your time and reply,
Ps.
On a separate note, the Site Stripe Custom Ads is off limits for me atm: I click on "Custom" and nothing happens.
It stopped working days ago, all of a sudden.
I contacted Amazon Support and they replied they reported the issue to their technical team. Nothing has changed so far.
I do use Ad Insterter as I love the control it gives me for placement and such.
Thanks again. This will definitely help people out when they go to deploy Amazon native ads in their site(s).
