In this scenario I have created a post and gave it a title of “TEST”. The permalink was automatically created. The original permalink looks like this:
After creating the original post, I realized that I forgot to search for a keyword and since my post title didn’t include a keyword I deleted that post. But, I found that “test” was a good keyword so I created the post again using the same post title. The permalink now looks like this:
OMG! Where did that “2” come from? This happened because I now have 2 posts with the same post title. Therefore, the “2” was automatically assigned to the permalink to identify this post from the original post.

The only way I would alter the permalink settings would be if it was something other than what is shown in the above image. The custom structure should be ticked and in the white box it should show /%postname%
If your custom structure is correct in the permalink structure, then you can follow the examples to change the permalink for your posts/pages as shown in the training.

I created a new post recently and misspelt the word "entrepreneur" (as "entrepreur"!)... so I may need to revisit this training to make the correction. Thanks for this!
