So ...

The THAT part of your recipe is where you define the action to perform when the recipe is triggered.

You need to click the blue "that" link to continue"

And this time you need to search for Wordpress:

And of course, you will be asked to activate the Wordpress channel. You'll have to provide your WordPress site URL, your username and your password:

UPDATE: unfortunatelly - as I found out after publishing this tutorial -, you won't be able to connect IFTTT with WA-hosted sites. But will work for sites hosted elswhere ...

Once you've connected your site, IFTTT will show you actions you can choose to perform on your WordPress site.

This time you want to select "Create a post" ...

In the next step, you need to choose the "ingredients" from your YouTube channel to add into your WordPress post.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I've chosen to add the YouTube video title as the WordPress post title, and the embed code in the post area:

But of course, you can add and configure the ingredients according to your needs.

At the bottom of the page you can choose whether you want to publish the post immediately, publish privately, or save as a draft.

Finally, click the "Create action" button.

IFTTT will now display your recipe details. You can save it by clicking the "Finish" button:

And that's it!

Your IFTTT recipe is ready now. It will automatically check YouTube for new videos every 15 minutes. If it finds a new video, then IFTTT will automatically create a new WordPress post from that YouTube video.

One final, important note ...

By default IFTTT has URL shortening turned on which means that your YouTube URL will be shortened by IFTTT and WordPress will not be able to embed your video!

To solve this issue, you need to disable URL shortening in IFTTT.

Start by clicking on your username on top right corner of the IFTTT dashboard and then click on Settings.

Next, scroll down to the URL shortening section and disable it:

And that's it my friends!

I'm setting up my account, but having problems connecting to my WordPress blog. No matter what format I put in, it says "Blog URL is not a valid Wordpress url".

I tried using the IFTTT password and the WA password that connects me to my website in case that's the problem, but still no go. What part of this could I have wrong?

Based on your imput you are using an incorrect/invalid url for your site.

Have you used the www. part too?

I've used every input that I can think of--www, https://, making sure there's a / at the end, but no go.

What is the user name and password that I should be using--the WordPress one or the IFTTT one? The IFTTT ones automatically populated in the boxes, so I tried again with the WordPress login that I use in WA.

When you set yours up, which set of username/password combo did you use?

Honestly, I don't know what to say Janelle ...

I'm starting to consider a possible WA-related security block?

Is your site a WA hosted site?

If so is siterubix or owned domain?

It is a WA hosted site, I'm thinking that you are onto it and maybe that's why I can't connect.

Thanks!

Now, I have to say this is awesome and looks like a very smart way of combing YouTube with IFTTT

I have bookmarked the IFTTT link to look further at, but thanks for sharing as a YouTuber, this is of real interest to me

What can I say - you have so many brilliant ideas Zed :)
You say that IFTTT is a fee-paying app, please could you tell me how much it costs?
Many thanks
Chrissie :)
