Obviously, the first thing is to create your free IFTTT account.

Once you are logged in, you need to select the "My Applets" link from the main menu:

On the next screen click the "New Applet" button ...

... which will bring you to the create a recipe wizard. Now you need to choose a trigger by clicking on the blue "this" link:

You will see a bunch of web channels that can be used with IFTTT. Simply type YouTube in the search bar and select it:

You'll be taken to the next step where you need to connect your YouTube & IFTTT accounts.

Click the "Connect" button, select your targeted Google account and click the "Allow" button to allow IFTTT access to your YouTube account:

Once you have activated your YouTube account, you'll have to choose a trigger.

In this case you want to select "New public video uploaded by you" ...

Usually, this will bring you to the next step which will allow you to choose fields from your selected trigger.

However, in this particular case the trigger doesn't have any fields to choose from.

So you'll be taken to the next step where you need to define the THAT part of your recipe ...

I'm setting up my account, but having problems connecting to my WordPress blog. No matter what format I put in, it says "Blog URL is not a valid Wordpress url".

I tried using the IFTTT password and the WA password that connects me to my website in case that's the problem, but still no go. What part of this could I have wrong?

Based on your imput you are using an incorrect/invalid url for your site.

Have you used the www. part too?

I've used every input that I can think of--www, https://, making sure there's a / at the end, but no go.

What is the user name and password that I should be using--the WordPress one or the IFTTT one? The IFTTT ones automatically populated in the boxes, so I tried again with the WordPress login that I use in WA.

When you set yours up, which set of username/password combo did you use?

Honestly, I don't know what to say Janelle ...

I'm starting to consider a possible WA-related security block?

Is your site a WA hosted site?

If so is siterubix or owned domain?

It is a WA hosted site, I'm thinking that you are onto it and maybe that's why I can't connect.

Thanks!

Now, I have to say this is awesome and looks like a very smart way of combing YouTube with IFTTT

I have bookmarked the IFTTT link to look further at, but thanks for sharing as a YouTuber, this is of real interest to me

What can I say - you have so many brilliant ideas Zed :)
You say that IFTTT is a fee-paying app, please could you tell me how much it costs?
Many thanks
Chrissie :)
