The next key is understanding the power of keywords. Choosing the right keywords to write your posts about is crucial to getting consistent traffic.

Use low competition / high traffic keywords. As you start to write consistent content, use the free keyword tool or Jaaxy to find keywords with decent traffic and a low QSR.

The QSR value (Quoted Search Result) is the number of websites ranking for that keyword. So it makes sense that the lower the QSR the better for you to stand out and get your post ranked, right?

If you can find keywords relevant to your niche with traffic higher than 300 and a QSR less than 100 that's a jackpot. Don't worry, that's not a hard rule you have to stick to. Any and all traffic adds up. The low QSR is the key factor here. The closer to 1 the better.

No matter if you’re running an online business or a casual blog, using the keyword tools we have available to us at Wealthy Affiliate is an absolute must.

It's good to be over 300 words for sure. The 500-800 range is probably comfortable for most. And sometimes there are posts where you're not even trying to be wordy but you finish and it's in the 1500 range.

As long as you have quality content, that's the key really. I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Thank you so much!

So we don't need to write 1500 words?

If you're writing a post and really writing from the heart and doing your best to not only tell a story but *show* the reader how to do something, and you finish up and it's say 700 words, there's no need to go in and try and stretch that content out with filler to get it to 1500.

You have to write naturally, with relevant, quality content.

It's a good idea to not be TOO brief though. An article under 300 words probably could use some more thinking out.

But you don't want to just add words to reach a word count. That's for sure.

I appreciate it.
