Spread the Word and Create Connections with People in Communities

Grow your traffic in technical ways. Traffic and SEO work together; the more visitors who visit your website, the higher your site’s Page Rank will increase in SERPs.

As a WordPress site owner, you have more potential ways to get loved by search engines and increase your blog readership.

Read Posts and Comment on Blogs

Simply find the top sites in your industry, subscribe, and learn more about them. When you find a post that interests you on their blogs, leave an attention-grabbing comment. Continue to leave relevant comments and you’ll get noticed soon.

One of the most proficient ways to build bonds, receive mentions, and get noticed on authority blogs is to consistently offer quality, relevant and authentic comments. You are going to want to do this for a schedule of months understanding the fact that it takes a while for people to get to know one another deeply.

When opportunities come from these top site owners, it’s you they’ll first consider. They won’t extend such opportunities to people they hardly know.

Link to Niche-Related Blogs

Blogging is all about building interactions as well as engaging with other people in online dialogue. When you link to another blog, the blog owner will probably link back to your blog (pingback) through their blog stats, and would like to find out how great you are doing on your own site.

Surprisingly, such bloggers may subscribe to your own blog and leave you some quality comments (Law of reciprocity taking effect), as I suggested you always do in the paragraphs above!

Also want to know how do I put in my TXT record into step 2 of the Google Search Console? I've tried several things and it won't let me put anything in that step. Is my TXT my Admin Login URL, FTP Username, or FTP password?

Where do I find the privacy settings in my WordPress back office to ensure they are set as “Visible to search engines”?
Reply
FOta Premium
Do you mean visitors privacy page?
It's normally set as non index. Meaning it won't show in Google.
The reason being it is a template every website uses.
You might risk being seen as duplicate.
Can you explain more?

Thanks for trying to help me, but no that's not what I was asking. I wanted to know how to do this.

If you want Google, Yahoo, Bing and other major search engines to index your content, go to your WordPress back office and ensure your privacy settings are set as “Visible to search engines”.

Select the page/post by clicking Edit.
Scroll down to the bottom of the editor where you will see the SEO settings.
Mine is all-in-one SEO pack and you'll see the meta title, etc.
Just below you will see 3 box you can tick.

I see the boxes you are talking about, but my coach told me NOT to check off those boxes. So are you saying as long as these boxes are not checked off that my post is set as “Visible to search engines”?

Hello LynneClay, you're much welcome on board. I do try to respond to comments within 1 - 24 hours.

To ensure your WordPress profile is set as "visible to search engines", simply log in your WordPress account dashboard, click on Settings, then on Reading. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find the box for "Discourage search engines from indexing your site" unmarked.

Leave it unmarked, but if marked, unmark it. If you mark the box, you're discouraging search engines from indexing your site. See the image below for a clearer view. Hope this helps! Thanks for your contributions!
