Choose a niche

This technique can be used for any niche that you like. In this case I have chosen a knitting niche and have bought a domain name.

Create a mind map

It doesn't matter whether you use a pen and paper or you use a software program as I've done in the example below. The aim is to just let your ideas run freely and write down any ideas connected to your niche.

Start off with a box which contains your central idea (eg Knitting) and then add your branches. This is your map - it doesn't have to be perfect and it doesn't have to make any sort of sense accept to you.

You can add to it as things come into your mind. I try not to spend any more than 5 minutes to begin with.

Tip: Try not to use more than 2 words on a branch or it does become a bit unmanageable.
