Using the AIO Social Meta Function
Okay, the following may be a review for those of you who have gone through my recent Meta Optimization training here:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/get-more-...
But, for clarity, I'll run through some of the steps again and bring up a couple of different items.... I hope. :-)
Okay, so now let's pop into a new post. Here, I have completed nearly everything, but there are always two things I do before I finally click that "Publish" button to make it come alive.....
Okay, you'll notice that I'm on the Social Settings tab below the post. You can see the Excerpt function is available and AIO Social Meta will use that to inform Facebook OG what to use for the description. Now, generally, you can just select the image that you want shown when Sharing is done for this specific post.
BUT, sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. :-)
I always have TWO images I create for every post.
One is the "Feature Image" and one is my social sharing image.
Now, you're likely asking yourself, "But, Peej, What the heck for?"
Well, lemme tell ya......
Some templates (likely most) want the feature image a certain size. BECAUSE this is the image that is used on your blog roll page..... kinda like this:
So, when you scroll down my blog page, you see the cool images and wee descriptions below each one. This is much more attractive than forcing people to read (no images) and will DECREASE your bounce rate, because they are more likely to click on a blog post and begin reading.Okay, I digress.... back in the post edit page.....the Featured Image function is on the right margin:
For all the images to look right on my blog roll page, I have figured out that my Feature Image always needs to be 1024 x 450 - But, again, this is ONLY for my template. Sizes will vary according to templates.More on the social stuff....coming up next!
On page 3 under the social profile link settings image, the first sentence, leave that spelling error in if you wish.
Why?
We all need the wonderful release of a good laugh during the learning process.
You're priceless and appreciated............:-))))))))))))))))
