Email marketing service providers have a huge variety of features at different price points. The following list shows some of the best rated companies that frequently show up on the "best of" lists. The list is in alphabetical order and does not represent a ranking.

AWeber is one of the most popular email marketing systems available for small businesses and marketers. AWeber provides lots of colorful opt-in box templates as well as email templates. AWeber has extensive training available including webinars and video training. Their customer service is superb. When they did not have an opt-in box template to meet my requirements, they quickly revised one of their template scripts to meet my design needs. I left them because of the way they counted and billed for subscribers. If you create multiple lists that contain the same email address, they count each instance as a separate subscriber. This is noted within their knowledge base.

Contant Contact is popular with small businesses because they provide customized information and content based on niche. They have lots of customizable templates that make it easy to get started. Constant Contact is also known for their high deliverability rates. They also have a 60-day trial period.

ConvertKit is a relative newcomer to the email marketing arena. Nathan Barry created ConvertKit to meet the needs of bloggers and artists (e.g. YouTubers). Major affiliate marketers like Pat Flynn recommend ConvertKit. I found it very easy to learn. ConvertKit has some great automation tools to segment subscribers based on event rules (if this happens/do this). This is a great way to create tags and segmentation in the customer information.

GetResponse claims to be the world’s easiest email marketing with a platform that is easy to use. As you will read, I am not so sure about that claim. But they have 500+ beautifully-designed email templates (all optimized for mobile) to create professional looking newsletters and autoresponders. Their customer support is superb (all of the issues I had were resolved quickly with no fuss. They even “walked” me through the drag-and-drop editor on several occasions). I left GetResponse because I had difficulties using their drag-and-drop editor needing to contact support for help.

MailChimp is one of the most popular email marketing service providers because of their freemium offer. Free account holders can have 2,000 subscibers and send 12,000 emails monthly. You should understand that if you have a list of 2,000 subscribers on their free plan, you will be able to send only 6 emails during the month. MailChimp has a great looking, easy-to-use dashboard, intuitive interface, and great template editor. On the downside, MailChimp has limite email automation. And they are not affiliate marketer friendly. Affiliate marketing as an industry is prohibited under the MailChimp Terms of Use, but affiliate links are usually fine to use in Mailchimp campaigns. (I am not sure what that means. It has been many years since I used MailChimp.)

MailerLite is a feature-rich, low-cost email solution. It is free forever up to 1,000 subscribers and has enough functionality to meet most needs without breaking the budget. The MailerLite built-in photo editor is a big time saver. My favorite feature is the free easy-to-use landing page editor. MailerLite does not like affiliate marketing. So look elsewhere if that is what you do.
