Resizing Images
If you've kept up with this, bless your heart!!!! LOL! I know it's been a long one.
Okay, as I mentioned, resizing images before using them within your custom graphics is a huge key, of course, to making it all work together.
So, here's a quick tutorial on resizing your images before using them within your custom graphic.
Note: You can resize an image while keeping the custom graphic project open in the background of Pixlr.
Okay, so using the very same Pixlr session I was previously in, I'm going to show you how to open a separate image, resize it, save it and then open it as a layer to use within your custom image graphic project.....
Click theFile menu option.
This time, select Open Image - locate your image and click OK to load it into Pixlr. Here's my text image that was previously saved, but too large for my project:
Notice the gray / white checkerboard background. This is because it's a PNG file and contains a transparent background. Again, you want this so that the main baser layer (background image) shows thru.
Now, that you have this separate image open.
Click the Image pull down menu
SelectImage Size as such:
Then, within the Image Size dialog window, you'll see this:
Within this dialog, you can select the size in pixels by clicking the wee down arrow and using the slider option that will appear:
The "constrain properties" option should be left alone. When changing either the Width or Height, this will keep the other dimension in direct proportion so you don't distort the image.
Then, simply save it as instructed previously.
Then, you can open this image as a layer as shown before!
Cool, huh???
Oh, I should teach you one other aspect of Pixlr that I use a lot....... Cropping
Wow! You're getting so much content for the price of your movie ticket, huh?? LOL!
