Creating a Static Home Page - Where do I Start?

It was suggested that I create a static homepage to introduce my website and explain its purpose to visitors. Great idea, the site would clearly benefit from this addition.

I searched WA training and Google finding pieces of the process but not an end-to-end step-by-step how-to-do-it tutorial. That's the reason I have created this 5-step training document.

Changing anything structural on the website, other than adding a page or post, always carries the risk of creating what we call an unforced error - a problem that didn't need to happen. So, I did my research and planned out the process. Happily I can report it went off without a hitch and works perfectly.

This training will show you how to do the same. The first step is, of course, to back up your website. Consider it an insurance policy - something you need to have and hope to never use.
