Hey all...I should move continents more often...its way early in the morning here and my brain says "enough sleep already"...so thought I'd use time wisely and add some training...

Here at WA we see a lot of lessons devoted to Social Media and we engage in a lot of discussion with other members about social media to build business by gaining a following, getting your content shared and building that all important traffic to your site (and therefore your products and links)

Within these conversations we see talk of Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest etc....

I was never a fan of social media...but I most definitely see the benefits for business. Those of you who have read some of my other traning and blogs know that I'm forever baging on about the brilliance of Pinterest and Tumblr ...now I want to introduce you to the one social network that outperforms every other (for me) and gets me the most social traffic to my website/s.

Reddit!

Reddits slogan is that of being "the front page of the internet" and for good reason. Reddit above all other social media platforms has beeen used successfully by thousands of online businesses to get traffic to their site. its not unknown for a single post to get thousands of views within an hour or two of publication.

The great news - anyone can achieve this level of hits. In my experience within 1 hour of posting a new blog article I start getting reddit hits and likes/up-votes and then traffic to my site. Reddit visitors seem to hang around as well...usually several pages and several minutes each (great for the bounce rate in analytics)

The not so great news - this is going to take work and patience (but in my experience your time is far better spent developing your Reddit threads....I have little to very little success in getting sales from FB and Twitter....so I spend time on reddit..and for me...time well spent.)

The main point is to begin slow with reddit...I'll explain more as we go through this training.

Great training thanks Jason. Unfortunately I looked up my niche (men's fashion -or fashion-) on Reddit and the rules for that community says no blog posts at all. I will keep Reddit in mind for other blogs though!

Think outside the box. Search subreddits for 'latest trend' men , casual wear, underwear, high fashion...don't be constrained ...find a thread even if vague

I think this advice is going to be great...thanks! I have been avoiding the whole social media side (my site is only a month old) so I am glad to hear of a more focused, less frustrating option! However, I have heard people on here who say they never make any sales from social media and they are still successful. Do you think there is any way to avoid it?

Social media is the proverbial pain in the buttocks. But it does work. Mainstream social media i.e. fb, Twitter I think are a waste of time..never made any money from them. Best for me and those that provide me money are *in rank* Reddit....Tumblr. ..pinterest
Nothing else works for me. But I guess its all about time spent and marketing strategy.
P.s.....I make more sales via social media than any other platform.

Hey Tim
Journey was good thank you
In terms connecting reddit to your business it's as simple as creating a Reddit profile and sharing. I use SumoMe and that makes life easier as it shares my posts with one click. Recommend Sumome plugin for all social sharing

Reddit is a lesser-known social network I hadn't even thought about using and knew nothing about other than hearing the name "Reddit" a small number of times. You see this as a major reason why your website is making money?

I definitely see it as a major contributor and hands above the other social channels

I just ran into a huge problem. Shortly after signing up with Reddit and getting the confirmation email I discover I can't log back into Reddit. Something went terribly wrong.

I posted a link to the subreddit computer chess and 2 referrals from Reddit suddenly appeared on the Jetpack stats. The title of my link post was "Houdini 3 Extreme Fails to Correctly Evaluate the Position."
