Images on pages can:
- Present a product or product line.
- Emphasize or enhance content.
- Link to information or products
- Introduce people or concepts.
- Set a mood.
- Relate to a content theme such as a holiday.
Images are a formatting tool for:
- breaking up content.
- organizing content.
- separating content.
- leading through content.
- pointing to content.
Sometimes, I build a page initially with images placing content around the image.
At other times, I add images into the content where they are needed.
When you place your images is not as important as where you place them.
Images can be added in either the Visual or Text mode
These choices are on the site manager tool bar found at the top of every page or post.
Whichever mode you use to insert your images, you need to place them properly.
To insert an image using the Visual Mode, you place the cursor where the image will be and click the "Add Media" button on the top left of the site manager tool bar.
To add an image in text, its important, especially if you are like me and don't know HTML, to add a marker on your page where the image code will be placed in the text.
I usually add a YOSEMITE in bold, Heading 3.
My "marker" word is easy to spot in the text so I know where to add my image code. Of course, I remove the marker word once the code is pasted into the text.
The next step is placing your image.
