Buddy Up

Are you a natural collaborator? Or more of a solitary writer? Blogging is inherently social - even if you are the sole master of your blog, the act of blogging would soon lose its appeal if you had no contact with others! Readers, comments, likes, shares and even trackbacks all add to the sense that your work is being read and enjoyed. You'll want to check out your readers and followers, and among them you are bound to discover interesting people you would never otherwise have met.

If someone regularly comments or likes your blog, and you like theirs, why not ask them if they're interested in some reciprocal guest blogging occasionally? Many online writer communities start this way.

If you have a real life creative friend - perhaps a writer, or perhaps an artist, photographer, or musician - what could you collaborate on, on your blog? Perhaps combine it with an event? Or do you have a creative friend whose blog is languishing - what can you offer to do to help them and yourself at the same time?

Indeed Mike. It's a great system we have here at WA and it's a classic example of what I am talking about in this tutorial. We are very lucky to have such power at our fingertips.

Lovely post. I think this human approach is one of the points of difference this online community and course/products has. It's not a bad model to learn from!
