Scared to Jump in with Both Feet?

Hi All,

I've been away from WA for almost a week (feels like years!). The reason is because I was contacted by an attorney network to build 30 sites.... yes, 30. The job paid very well and after talking with the contact, it seemed as if all they wanted were simple WP sites with a few sidebar items and tons of content (that they created and sent to me). We can all do that, right? Hahahahahahahahaha......

Did I mention that the folks that hired me were attorneys? For the purpose of not offending anyone in that profession I will just say that it was extremely difficult to work with them. They all had different opinions about captions, page titles, categories, menu placement, etc. UGH! And don't think for a second that they spared any feelings of mine as I heard "that stinks", "it's horrible", and "what the hell" all multiple times.

I stuck with it because I was determined not to allow these jerks to get the best of me. Long story short- I learned SO MUCH from researching and figuring out how to accommodate all of their requests!! Seriously!! And, by the end (which was about an hour ago), they all told me I did a terrific job and appreciated me putting up with them.

That was one of the scariest things I've ever done! I was truly swimming with the big dogs and holding my own!!

My point is that if I can do it, you can too- trust me! Tons of folks here have said that they would love to work with a few local folks and build a site for them for extra money. JUMP OUT THERE AND JUST DO IT! YOU WILL GROW SO MUCH!

Wow, congratulations. You are doing great!

Only because of folks like you who I know have my back!

Congratulations!

Congrats firstly for getting the work and congrats for dealing with some people who tend to think they are a cut above the rest. Well done Tracey. Wishing you the best may you get another 30 with a more relaxed group to take the pressure off. Take care and be well.

Thanks- you are always so kind! I hope so too and also for everyone else here!

Hey Tracy, loved that that you managed to take complete ownership of the situation and managed to come out of the other end with a win.

Me, too- I wasn't sure for a while!

Good job. I hope they gave you a check as well. And make sure it doesn't bounce. :-)

YEP! A big fat one- YAY!

Good
When is lunch?
John

Wouldn't that be cool if we could really all meet once in a while for lunch!

Congratulations! I am glad this all worked out for you. Share your experiences with us, please.

That is great!

Tracy, I hope that I can follow in your footsteps here as you have truly been an inspiration to me. I have a tendency to want to be "perfect" before doing something like that and I know that I just need to take the plunge... just like jumping into a pool with cool water.

You will shake all the way but it will be worth it! Trust me, you are MUCH better than me- you are one of the ones who I read everything you post!

Well, thank you very much for that honor Tracy. I really appreciate it hearing things like that. So very glad to be working with you!

Congratulations! Job well done. Proud of you.

Thanks tons!

Great job and way to hold your own. Stand your ground and keep your conviction about your abilities. People will gravitate to your confidence. So how did you get the attorney to contact you :) ?

Through a local business directory site I built. I showed it to the Economic Development Board and they are telling everyone about it!
