Thank you and Merry Christmas
I'm a fairly active member of my local community when it comes to charity and various community groups, etc. Hey, what can I say? I'm a nurse, it's in my nature.
Anywho, yesterday I witnessed something that made me realize just how lucky I truly am, both in the marketing world as well as in my personal life.
Yesterday, I watched a young child of 8 or 9, completing a project known as "Candy Cane Smiles."
The purpose of this is to go into the community and give candy canes to people as they go about their day.
This child was at the grocery store and had been handing out the candy canes for a little while when she approached an elderly woman of about 75 years of age.
The woman had just finished checking out with a meager amount of discounted meats, a few apples, and a couple of loaves of discounted bread from the bakery.
As she went to leave, the little girl presented her with the candy cane and a cheesy smile and said, "Merry Christmas, Ma'am. Have a candy cane."
The elderly woman stopped short in her tracks, began sobbing, and said to the girl, "Thank you so very, very much."
Upon seeing the lady weeping, the child (with her direct but polite approach) said, "Why are you crying, the whole point is to make you smile!'
The elderly woman began to explain, "Sweetheart these are tears of joy! I haven't had a Christmas present in years, until now. You just made my Christmas complete."
As touching as this story is, I'm sure that you're wondering exactly why I'm sharing it with you all here.
You see, it is much easier to succeed in life when you have a strong support team behind you. Sometimes, just like the elderly lady I witnessed yesterday, all it takes is one person to show you that it's possible, one person to care, one person to make a world of difference.
For this reason, I say thank you. To my WA family here and to all the members I have yet to meet, I wish you the Merriest of Christmases, The Happiest of Holidays, and the best times that the New Year has to bring.
May you reach the stars and conquer the heavens in route to your hopes and dreams as you journey toward success!

Wonderful post Tony! May you have a happy and prosperous New Year, my friend. Best wishes to you and Jennifer. :)
Thanks Michael and you're absolutely right. We need to try to include as many as we can this time of year.
Very Inspiring, Tony. first off I'd like to say Merry Christmas to you and your family and thank you so much for sharing this with us all, and it's very true. If you reach out and show someone you care, that person will do the same to the next person, and so on, creating a dominoes effect...
Very inspirational, Tony. Thanks. May your New Year bring forth the best for you and your family.
Great story, you never know which change you make with just a smile to some stranger:) May the message of Christmas fill your life with joy and peace
