WA Blog Rules

Last Update: Oct 22, 2015

Wealthy Affiliate Friends - Below are the Blog Rules for here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Your blog here at Wealthy Affiliate is a great spot to communicate with others in the community and let people know about your progress, your successes, and ultimately your experience as you move through the crazy and exhilarating world of online business.

On top of that it is super powerful for building relationships with others and building your network here within the community by documenting your exciting journey!

Before you blog here, we want to clarify a few things as people do get confused as to what they are allowed to blog about and what they aren't.

Here are some simple rules for blogging here at WA:

  1. Please don't spam or promote anything here at WA. That ain't cool. We are a spam free community and we want to keep this a safe place for everyone to interact and get help. Promotions are to be left for your external websites.
  2. Keep religion and politics out of your posts. Everyone comes from different walks of life and you know how fired up people can get about these topics. It is best to stay away from posts like this for the better nature of the community.Again, on your external websites is totally cool for these sorts of topics.
  3. Keep the conversation on topic. Your blog here is to share your experiences within WA and with creating your business online. Your website is for posting "niche" related content, so keep anything that is relevant to your niche there. You don't want to waste your awesome niche content by posting it somewhere other than your site.
  4. Don't copy and paste content from elsewhere. Copying content from other sources, even if it is your own, isn't of benefit to the community.
  5. Be nice, play nice. Do to others and speak to others as you would want them to speak to you. Should be easy enough right?

If you want the full "policy" spiel, you can get our formal posting rules here.

That reads:

Spam or blatant promotions are not allowed within Wealthy Affiliate. If your intended purpose of being here and to engage is solely based on your underlying promotions, please refrain from doing this.

The reason we are firm on our stance on self promotion here at Wealthy Affiliate is we are and want to continue to be a safe haven for people. One that is free of all promotions and focuses on people helping each other! :)

If you want to offer help or training or tell a story, do so within the mediums provided here (create training, create a blog post, engage within comments or chat with others).

Here are the rules for spam within WA. If you go against any of these, you may lose all posting privileges within WA and depending or may be completely removed from WA without the ability to ever join again (yes, we do take this stuff seriously).

  1. No unsolicited messages to be sent through private messaging. This will lead to immediate removal of your ability to post anywhere within WA.
  2. No copied content allowed to be posted here at Wealthy Affiliate. This content will be immediately removed and you will lose posting privileges.
  3. Do not copy content from WA and post it somewhere else on the Internet. This includes copying your own blog content and putting it on your website.
  4. No promotions with comments or chat. Although these may seem like subtle ways to promote, if you are caught doing this, you will likely lose privileges. If a link is posted out of an act to help someone, not sell something, that is OK.
  5. No training should be focused around a promotion of a product or service or give half information. If it does, then it will be immediately removed from the training at WA and you may lose all privileges to post training in the future.
  6. No blog or forum posts that are created for the pure purpose of promoting a product. This does include product reviews. Rants are OK.
  7. No adding affiliate links to any blog, training, discussion or private message
  8. Do not post content that is irrelevant to the online business world or your respective journey through the online world. Anything that is "niche" specific should be posted on your external websites.
  9. Do not post content where your readers are required to go to an external website to "read more". All of the content must be self contained within the post itself.
  10. No soliciting phone numbers or asking people to call you
  11. Asking for personal contact information
  12. Any in appropriate content (adult content, website URL's or related images)
  13. Soliciting communication outside of the Wealthy Affiliate platform
  14. Using incorrect or misleading headlines within your discussions or blog posts
  15. No faith or religion based posts
  16. No politically driven posts
  17. Promoting ANY product whatsoever
  18. Anything else that you are knowingly doing in attempt to sell something.
  19. We do not allow any form of fundraising or charity including that campaigning for members here within WA. Please keep all fundraising campaigns external of WA.

We are all here with the ultimate goal of success, if you try some "sneaky sneak" spam attempts within WA, you will be caught and you may be in for an "account explosion"! We are flexible on every other aspect of WA other than spam. No exceptions. Just don't do it!

We truly are a community of help and if you see any form of spam going on, please do let us know and we will handle accordingly. :)

I have shared the above rules because I have been in violation of many of them many times and do apologize to all within the Wealthy Affiliate Community. I assure You that there was and never will be malicious intent on my part, I would truly Love to see us all prosper and grow in our online journey together.

Thank you Friends, I will also do my best to limit myself to just 1 blog a day about business (training also and maybe a 2nd blog if I really have exciting things to share)

Hi Tony,
Well thanks for that, I must admit that I had not read the rules, I think I broke them with every blog, I will have to be more careful if I blog again.
Best wishes

You are welcome Trevor, me too Thank You. Tony

Wonderful Katie, You are welcome & thank you. Tony

Good post, know we all know whats what.

Yes Sir David, I will read these rules before I blog now as I am a slow learner.

A great reminder for all of us, thanks very much Tony. Great to know everyone is well now. :))

Thank You Jewel Carol, I agree

We all need to forget the past and move on to a brighter future.

Yes Sir Ken, I so agree my Friend.

I will miss your blogs Tony.

I won't be stopping them all Greg, just won't be sharing personal ones. I will share that stuff on Facebook etc....

Thank you Greg,

Thank you for sharing that Tony!
It does seem we all need to sit back and read the policy and procedures more often to remember!
Great job!
Sheila :)

Yes Ma'm Sheila, I am such a slow learner that I am going to Reread the Blog Rules every day right before writing and posting a Blog. Keep smiling my Friend & have a safe trip back from NJ - :)

Top of the morning to you, my brother,
and welcome back (◠﹏◠✿)
Was worried after reading Grayden's post . . . (╥_╥)
Glad it's sorted out ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Hey Pitters,

great to see You my Friend & main Tony.

I asked Grayden to post that for me because I had no idea how long that my timeout was going to last or for what it was for.

I learned a lot in that 24 hours and realize that I need to revise a few things in my blog future.

Thank You for your concern Pitters,

Tony, question to the spam, if we were to have the blog post affiliate link copy and paste it onto our own internet, is it all right.

I believe that I understand your question as can we share the post affiliate link onto our websites?

If that is the question then yes I do believe that we are allowed to post the affiliate link but not the actual post copied and pasted.

Thank you John for the excellent question,

Thanks for the clarification!

You are welcome Sheila,

I realized that I needed to go back and really read the rules so I figured that at least a few of my Friends here on Wealthy Affiliate may also need to read them as well.
