Great example of where societies get their "conventional wisdom".

Don't sail west- you'll fall off the Earth. Humans can't fly. We are the center of the universe. She's a witch! Burn her at the stake. You think money grows on trees? Imagine our world today if we listened to such "wisdom". Same reasons the monkeys forgot about what they were placed at the ladder to do.

This happens all the time, you can find it everywhere. At my shop I complained about how payroll was releasing checks on payday after all the technicians have gone home. The response from my managers was, "that's just how it is." To someone who works for a living and lives paycheck to paycheck this can cause a lot of stress.

It wasn't until JP Morgan came in and interviewed us, and I mentioned the payroll concerns. Next week after they left, the owner hired more staff in the office and now we are paid at noon on paydays. Now everyone is patting me on the back for speaking up when no one would.

So going against the curve can produce benefits, but can also put you on people's radars for being non submissive. Risks might get in the way of progress, but you have to risk it to get the biscuit.

Anyway awesome post, nothing like a monkey fight club to help put a perspective on human behavior.

The world is going through this right now... mayber it is part of global warming (ha ha) Every county, world wide, is having frustrated people become violent, and I do not think they even, deep down, know why. The question is how do we stop it. It takes more than changing the president of this or any country. How do we change the thinking at ground level to get it to change at the top?

Looking at our world in general these days.....this logic would be impeccable.....hate/greed/avarice/murder/rape.....mankind's behavior in general toward each other.....sad to say, once had a conversation with a small group of 'smart' and 'learned' folks.....their general consensus was that wars/pestilence/etc. were 'just the way it is'. Naturally, words and ideologies cited were quite astute and long-worded......unimpressive and meaningless dribble....
