Build Your List With Content Upgrades

I guess most of us on WA have some sort of optin form on our websites.

What is your optin form for ?

Are you using it to build an email list.?

Yes an optin form is for us to collect email details to add to our list so further down the line we can notify our list about products with links we want to convert into sales.

Thats why we are doing this right to make some money !!

Now then what incentive are you giving your reader to opt in.

1. The notification incentive

If like me it was a sign up for my weekly newsletter, or get updates well you might have fallen flat on your faces.

Did you actually have your autoresponder set up to send weekly updates?

If you did not and if your still intend to use this as an incentive I would get about sorting that out now.

I have not had much success with this method.

2. The lead magnet

Now then you might have gone one step further and are using a lead magnet as the optin incentive,

Where on the your site is the lead magnet.?

I started by having my lead magnet in widget in a side bar.

Great if the lead magnet was something the reader had come to my site to read or learn about.

What though if it wasnt anything to do with that article? by by optin.!!

3. The Content Upgrade.

A content upgrade is a lead magnet that is specific to the post content.

For instance I write a blog post about facebook marketing, then I would create a leadmagnet about facebook marketing.

The content upgrade does not have to be a masterpiece. It could be an ebook of your post or a checklist, or ten tools for facebook marketing. Anything that is related to your post that the reader is much more likely to handover his/her email to you for. WHY BECAUSE IT ADDS VALUE TO THE SPECIFIC SEARCH THEY CAME TO YOUR SITE WITH.

You should make this offer on the page/post that the reader is on. There are various methods of offering it from a simple optin form in your post to a pop up optin as the reader leaves the page and many more.

By using the Content Upgrade method you are much more likely to capture that email to your list.

You can even have the optin form take them to a landing page with a product offer. I would rather than that, have your autoresponder send this offer once your readers email is in the list.
