Slowly but Surely

The title pretty much sums up my progress at WA as I'm about to wrap up level 2 of the Online Entrepreneur Certification program. Admittedly, it's been taking me too long to complete this program. While I've gone through phases where I've been intensely focused on the tasks that I've been given to do in the video lessons, at other times, I've found myself stuck and not sure what to do next. That has perhaps been my biggest challenge. Then there have been those times when I'm too busy with my day job to get much done at WA. I teach English, mostly academic writing, in an English program at a university in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and when I have up to 120 essay exams to mark, I don't even have time to log in to WA. But now I'm finally finishing level 2, and I'm looking forward to the next level.

Coming up with a niche wasn't easy for me. But I eventually came up with a niche and an idea for another website, so I bought two domains and built two websites. The niche I chose came out of my criticism of the Law of Attraction. After having watched the documentary The Secret many years ago, I eventually came to the conclusion that simply visualizing a successful future simply wasn't enough. Having a clear idea of who you are and taking the appropriate actions in pursuit of your goals are of utmost importance.

The niche I chose is aimed at helping people discover their true selves and take the right actions to get what they want in their lives. I've posted articles about those two topics on the website I built for that niche, and at some point, I'd like to promote some products on Clickbank that aim to help people find their true selves and make the right moves to pursue their dreams. I'm honestly still not 100 percent clear about my idea for this niche, but I'll just see what happens as I progress.

The idea for my other website is focused on communications and digital marketing. I have a strong background in print journalism and editing. I was a reporter for Black Press's weekly newspapers in Victoria, BC, Canada (which just happens to be where WA is based) for many years in the 1990s and 2000s before moving to Cambodia in 2007. While I was still living in Victoria, I used to write a couple dozen stories every week. I covered everything from politics to crime. Since I've been living in Cambodia, I've done lots of editing work for local companies and organizations on top of teaching English. I was also the managing editor of a local now defunct business magazine in Phnom Penh. Anyway, I thought that I could combine my writing and editing background with the new skills I'm learning here at WA and establish a communications/digital marketing business.

In the meantime, I need to finish the OEC program at WA. So that's going to be my primary focus over the next two or three months. My next step is to complete the last few tasks that I need to do to finish level 2, and then I'm going jump right into level 3. I also want to develop video-making skills since YouTube videos have become so important for affiliate marketing.

After I finally finish the OEC program, the first thing I need to do is do some editing on my two sites and make changes so that it's very clear what the focus is for each of the websites. Once all that is done, I want to set up a Clickbank account and begin promoting some products for the site that's concerned with helping people find themselves and take the actions they need to take to find success in their lives. And after I finish my communications/digital marketing site, I'll then go about trying to find clients in need of my services.

In the longer term, I'm sure I'll upgrade to Premium Plus at some point. But right now, I wouldn't have time to really take advantage it because I'm too busy trying to finish the OEC program and trying to catch up with other videos that are offered to Premium users. I also need to go back and watch many of the OEC training videos again to gain a clearer understanding of certain topics.

All in all, while my progress at WA has admittedly been kinda slow, I'm still very determined to get through the training and gradually achieve my goal of becoming a successful online entrepreneur. The year ahead should be interesting.

Well thought out plan of attack, Mark! Best success to you!

Jeff

Thanks! You too!

I will do my best, Mark!

I'm with you on the slowly but surely team. It's been 1.5 years since I joined, got thru Entrepreneur Certification and most of Affiliate Bootcamp.
Started 3 websites in different niches; I too had a problem picking a niche that I was passionate about. I chose weight loss, which I need (myseniorwieghtloss, com), Online income (makemoneyonlline.com), and Hobbies (manthing.net).
When I get blocked on one, I can go to the next.
Someday soon I would like to be making a living from this, I need to fill these sites with content yet.
I still think this will work, I'm learning a lot.
Good luck to you

Thank you ! Good luck to you, too!

Forward movement is better than stagnation. Keep focused on your goals and don't give up!
I wish you well!
Diane

Thanks. 👍 I wish you well, also. 😊

It doesn’t really matter how’s fast you are going through the training, but it’s about how you assimilate and implement all what you learn.

Wish you a great journey in your business

Thanks. I agree, but still, I need to pick up the pace a bit!

Yeah sure

Hi Mark

What is the expression ... "slow and steady wins the race"? Seems to me, you are doing a great job so far. You know what they say, "if you want to get something done, give it to a busy person" - you're a perfect match for WA :-)

I watched The Secret this weekend and have to agree with you, the principles seem solid, but without action, they are worthless. I am a Christian and saw many similarities between the Bible says and The Secret ... only the Bible speaks about the Creator of the universe. Like you, I would like to address the Law of Attraction in one of my online businesses, but from a Christian perspective. It is a very interesting topic.

Wishing you every success as you plough (or plow, lol!) your way through all the marking and build your online businesses.

Blessings
Louise

Thank you! 😊 I hope you find a lot of success, too!
