Moving Up the Ranks in WA!

I decided a few weeks back that I wanted to make a concerted effort to climb up the ranks here at WA. I wanted to do this for a variety of reasons. These were:

- it helped motivate me to come in and get stuck in each and every day

- it allowed me to see my progress within the community

- it added to my commitment level for helping others

- it meant that if I was going to be effective with the help I gave I needed to learn more for myself

- it meant I began to share more about my experiences here by blogging, rather than keeping my learnings and thoughts all to myself

- it pushed me outside my comfort zone by creating a training on Market Research

It has been interesting seeing my numbers move up on a daily basis. When I decided to begin this I think I was around the 3000 mark on the ranking board. Yesterday I hit 300, and today I am at 284.

The great thing is that the major reason for my rank moving up is by helping others within the Bootcamp training, which is where I am myself. Each time I help someone else I also help myself, as my confidence grows. I realise that I know more, and the queries I had at the beginning I now know the answers to, and can provide them to others.

When I first started at WA I found the community aspect a little distracting. I guess because I didn't know enough I wasn't really able to help. I spent time reading through the profiles of other members who had connected with me, and responding to their words. At times this was all I did in WA, and the training got left to another day.

Now I focus on my own training or website task first then I move back to the community, helping, reading, commenting, blogging and this seems to be working for me. My next goal is to break the 200 mark, and I'm pretty confident that this won't take too long.

I have ventured occasionally into the LIVE CHAT area to ask a few questions here and there, but still don't feel confident enough to help others in this arena, so this too is another goal I am setting myself. By working on my own training and building up my knowledge banks as well as my confidence I believe I will soon be able to fulfil this goal.

For me, the ranking system is another way that WA makes it easy to succeed. When you focus on moving on up the ranks, you notice how well you are doing. By focusing on helping others, by blogging your progress, by creating trainings and generally being involved in this amazing community of like-minded people you can't help but succeed.

**Update**

It's September 8th, and I'm off to bed in a minute. My rank today stands at 204, so I'm getting really excited by what tomorrow might bring. Will I be in the top 200? More importantly, right now, will I sleep?

I'll let you know in the morning how I got on - the rank that is, not how I slept. Well, not unless you particularly ask in the comments. ;)

**Update**

Woohoo! Well I only went and bloomin' did it! I'm in the TOP 200, and I have a little blue tag at the top of my profile page to say so too.

Obviously, I have been to the Ambassador page to take a look at my profile name in the rankings and found out I've been classifed as an Active Contributor and I'm now ranked 195. Feeling really chuffed! Great motivation to keep going.

Now back to the really important stuff. I'm off to my Bootcamp training and who knows maybe I can make my new goal to achieve100 Premium Referrals before Dec 31st, 2016. Now wouldn't that be grand!

So, I just made a week and 2 days. Initially, my rank was at something ridiculous like 660,000!!! I'm currently at the 1123 mark.....how this happened, I don't have a clue.....but it's nice to be below 2,000! But it's interesting, I really didn't know the purpose for the rank status to begin with, but I found myself almost obsessed with checking it, multiple time a day. So, this evening, I put a question on the chat about the importance of rank, and I was told to just type in "WA Rank", yours was the first blog I read.

Thank you for sharing your insight.....it sees that helping and encouraging others is the key. I really don't have much to share, in terms of teaching or "how to", but I've read a lot of books and watched a lot of webinars on changing your mindset, so I may stick to what I already know, when it comes to writing blogs.

Thanks again!!!

This is fantastic! I really appreciate your blog post. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! I have the same goals. It seems that I have had so many setbacks with my time since I joined WA, but there are no more excuses for me to make. I want to succeed. Thanks again for your motivating post. :)

Glad it helped! What I've learnt is to accept there will be setbacks along the way, and they can be great lessons for us too.

I have just had another one myself and written another blog post about it. Sometimes the biggest hurdle to overcome is our own thinking.

What I find that helps me more than anything is a daily reminder of what my BIG WHY is. It gets me to tackle my setbacks, obstacles, doubts, and all those other pesky things that get in our way and face them head on.

Great work, love it.

Thank you for your support, Mike. I really appreciate it.

Well done, Great. I also try my best to help others.

The more you learn, the more you can help. It's a great learning journey all round. ;)

Good job,now i have to work on my rankings

It really isn't much more effort and it's quite satisfying watching them move up on a daily basis.

I echo your goals. Well done.

255 is really good. It's a lot of fun isn't it?!

I'm having a lot of fun. I'm anxious to learn something new everyday.

Good job-You're making progress! :)

Thanks Rick. It feels like it.

It is important to have a clear distinction between WA activity and your own websites and balance the two. Well done in terms of your prioritization and the value you get from each.

Yep the balance is definitely very important.

Get on with your own business. Enjoy the perks of working within a great community. WA definitely adds to working from home.

You're very right in saying the community aspect can become distracting :)

It certainly can be Jude. Now time to get back to sorting out my site.

I need to make some revisions. ;)
