Best Practices For Making AI Content Your Own

Are you a new blogger trying to make your content stand out? Using artificial intelligence (AI) can help you create content quickly, but it's important to add your personal touch. Here are some helpful tips to make AI content your own.

Understand Your Audience

understand your audience

Before you start using AI tools, think about who will read your blog. Are they kids, teenagers, or adults? Knowing your audience helps you choose the right words and topics. This makes your content more interesting and relatable to your readers. Shoot for an eight grade reading level.

Add Personal Stories

One way to make your content unique is by sharing personal stories or experiences. AI can provide facts and ideas, but only you can share your life stories. Adding these makes your blog feel more authentic and helps readers connect with you.

Use Your Own Voice

AI can generate text, but it might sound a bit generic. To make the content sound like you, try adding phrases or expressions you often use. This helps your readers recognize your unique writing style and keeps them coming back for more. Inject yourself into your content.

Edit and Revise

Edit and Revise

After AI generates the content, it’s important to edit and revise it. Look for any errors or awkward sentences. Make sure the information is accurate and up-to-date. This is an important step! (Next trust the facts! Double Check Them!) This step ensures your content is high-quality and trustworthy.

Add Catchy Visuals

Pictures and videos can make your blog more engaging. AI can suggest ideas, but you can choose visuals that fit your style. Use images that help explain your points or add fun elements to keep readers interested. Visuals can capture attention and attract the eyes, use them!

Keep Learning

AI tools are always changing and improving. Stay curious and keep learning about new ways to use AI. This will help you find even more creative ways to make your content stand out. You have access to the training, use it and apply it to your work. You will find time goes by, your content will improve.

By following these best practices, you can use AI to create unique and engaging content that truly reflects who you are as a blogger.

Good Luck!

I tend to run through an AI-generated text and edit as I go, but I don't expect to have done a perfect (for me) job, so I go over it repeatedly. With each pass, I seem to find things I don't like, but at some point, I have to hit publish because I can always edit again later on.

At the very least, you have proofread the content and made some changes.

Excellent post, Michael! 👍😎

I couldn't agree more, Michael! Thanks for posting.

I like injecting what I call my “Steveisms” into the content.

For story-telling, I’ve been experimenting with talk-text and editing.

Great insights Michael, and the "edit and revise" one is key. We don't want to take any AI content at face value, it does a really good job (typically) of generating even the most sophisticated outputs that we are after, but we always want to put our final touch on it.

Humans are really good at realizing what is direct AI content, and what is human language content, so always make sure to add you own spin on things. :)

Excellent point!
