First Earnings From Hubpages!
After Robin went missing Squidoo announced its merger with Hubpages. You will know that I am a former Squid Angel and Giant Squid, if you read my posts! LOL
Yesterday I put up a new Hub about Robin going missing and today it has had 11 visits, but more importantly it is not even a Sales Hub and it has earned its first 3 cents!
It appears that Hubbers are far more likely to click on the Ads than Squids were as earning on Squidoo often took a month or more to get traction. So far so good I will post on the affect the transfer has on my other 46 lenses after they arrive on Hubpages.

I'll be trying out Hub Pages soon...I was on there years ago. Very interested in hearing about how you're making out with Hub Pages after your lenses are over there. Yayy for the 3 cents, congratulations! It's a definite start of good things to come!
Congrats! Good to know since I do have a few Squidoo pages and have been wondering if the merging with Hubpages would improve things or make them worse. It'll be interesting to hear more of how they do over there for you. Best wishes :)
Yes, I hope that it works well, however it is the last of that type of site left standing. Maybe Google will kill it too who knows?
I guess we'll find out in time. That's one of the main reasons I haven't made any Squidoo lenses in probably a year or so. But, I'll give Hubpages a try anyways, at least for the lenses I had on Squidoo.
I'm hoping things will continue to work well for them and they won't get hit by Google. Now to wait until they get transferred over and see what happens.
Well it is hardly a fortune, but it was so easy to get. I hope that is a sign of the future, however Kyle and Carson always seem to prefer the owned site route and there is a reason!
Sure, so far I did the same and this was just the one Hub. Will post as and when notable changes occur.
Hubpages is a supplier of free web pages that you can monetize and use to direct traffic to related sites. This earning was for ads they placed on my Hub. It gets paid after you hit a minimum of $50 total and about two months in arrears to allow for returns and errors to be corrected. Since I have 46 lenses on Squidoo that will tansfer in over the next month or so. I could stand to make a good residual advertising income on them. This is before any sales I may make through Amazon etc.
It certainly seems that there is some good money to be made from the on hub advertising. Of course Google is the ultimate parent. May be they save the best ads for their own run sites?
Cool, please keep us posted on how things are going there. I might have to go back to work over there. :)
Well if that continues 46 Hubs would pay $1.38 per day just from unrelated advertising. Proper SEO and monetization may make it an attractive free site. The only issue would be infringing any of their rules and being banned!

will have a look at this thank you
I find that the free sites like this are OK to test niches, but the down side is that they not you control the site so they could sell out like Squidoo or worse just cease to exist at any point in time.
that is true but once your site is built you can shift the web hosting, for me it is a question of learn as much as I can whilst I can and apply it.
