Tickled Pink!
My oldest granddaughter is now 25. When she was about 5, anytime I said or did something that made her laugh or giggle she would tell me 'Oh Grandma, that just tickles me pink!'
I loved that phrase! Not sure where she had heard it from. Maybe a cartoon. I have continued to use it all these years when something has made me feel really good!
My experience here at WA just tickles me Pink! I have learned so much in the few months I have been here. I spent so many of my adult years just raising my family and working to keep above water that I never really focused much on what I wanted to do. I just did what was needed.
Now I can focus on me as the kids are all raised and having families of their own. I was so 'old school' when computers first hit the scene that I didn't realize what importance they would bring to our everyday lives.
I didn't bother to learn them until at my daughters one day and her second daughter who was about 8 at the time was on the keyboard just searching away and I realized I didn't even know how to turn a computer on!
I took some business classes and learned the basics. I always dreamed of having my own website. I had tried several programs out there but none of them were for me until I found my home here!
My training is going well. I have learned so much and even though I still have a long way to go, I am still excited. The extra training the members here have helped me with is invaluable to me. I can't even say thank you enough!
So...Thank you all and especially Kyle and Carson for developing this awesome teaching platform for tickling me PINK!

Good evening Teresa,
I love this tickle pink thing, good for you.
I am in the same situation as only recently I let a computer enter my life, to be precise at the end of 2013.
That thing tickles me gray or even black often, depends on the the day
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Lol I know that feeling too! I am by far what is considered computer proficient! Efficient is more like it!

Tickling linked to pleasure appears in print way back to the early 17th century. However specific to being “tickled pink”, in 1910, in an article published in The Daily Review, a Chicago newspaper, we have:
"Grover Laudermilk was tickled pink over Kinsella's move in buying him from St. Louis."
Including the saying in a newspaper, without any explanation, indicates that the reporter expected his readers to already be familiar with the term. However I can’t find any other references before that date so it looks like it might not have originated much before then; since then there exist many references to it in print.
Forgive me; it's Friday and given your post made me smile I thought I'd reply with this!
Happy weekend!

I have a deep love for my language and literature. In many ways, although the origins of English are incredibly diverse, the art the Brits have "given" the world lies in the evolution of writings, humour and satire derived within this incredibly flexible ever evolving tongue! I pray "digispeak" doesn't lead to its future demise.

When I first got a computer back in the late 1990s I had no idea that just regular people like me could even have a website. I do think it was much more difficult back then because I think you had to do a lot of things on your own to set up a website that are simply done for us now.
I'm really glad I found wealthy affiliate and I enjoy being here with people just like me who want to make a way for themselves online.
And like you, I am tickled pink by the training we have access to here!
Thank you for sharing this, Teresa. The training, the resources and the sincere helpfulness of others here is what makes this platform stand so far above the rest. Wishing you great success and many, many "tickled pink" moments.

This is such a cool post. Thank you for sharing. I've heard that phrase before and it always made me smile as well. I feel the same way about being here. It feels like home and I'm so encouraged when I get on WA to see what's happening. This is my support system, my encouragement, my push to succeed. I'm glad you've found the same here. Wishing you all the best in the months to come. Following you so I can hear about your journey.
Following you back! I love seeing people succeed and how sharing this community is!
Good luck to your success!
