OMG! This is Insane, Free Hosting Forever!
OK, so now I have your attention...
WA members do get free hosting forever. Starter accounts get 2 Siterubix sites. Of course Premium members get 25 domain sites and 25 Siterubix sites, So why do we see so many members using outside hosts?
it is another expense that does nothing to help us as online entrepreneurs. OK, my background makes it easier, but read my profile. I don't want to spend time the rest of my life tweaking network security settings and managing the server when I know WA has us covered..
REAL LIFE STORY...HAPPENED LAST NIGHT
To highlight why we don't want to host outside, here is my own real time example. My own un-managed server came under huge attack last night. Even though I have very little remaining on it, as I have been migrating the main sites to WA, since I joined and plan to shut it down in the next week.
Attackers must have thought they hit on some huge corporate server with valuable information on it. Well they could not get in because the security ranks 123/135 (in the top 92% of servers worldwide using this particular firewall technology) but the amount of time I waste playing cat and mouse with hackers to be constantly tweaking the server, is just not worth my time. The attacker(s) used some automated mailbomb script on the dedicated IP address so it would tie up the server resources with useless mail requests until the server eventually ground to a halt by 12:50 A.M.
It worked to some degree as I could not even get into the server to lock out the compromised account. So I had an on site engineer reboot the server and whitelist my local IP address long enough for me to get back in. In the meantime I created WA sites and email accounts, then added the WA name servers and that started the propagation process to WA--so I went to bed.
TWO TOOLS I USE TO CHECK PROPAGATION AND RESOLVING THE HOST are:
intodns.com/technismart.com
leafdns.com
Enter your domain into the field in leafdns.com. You may not know what it all means, but you can ask me or many others here and we can help you.
Green is Good, Blue is OK, Yellow is So so. and Red is bad--simple really.
CHECKING THE NAME SERVER PROGRESS
Simply adding WA server names to your domain registrar is enough to get it all started.
and since these other server names exist on the parent server, I also add
In networking lingo we call this PROPAGATION and when the domain is visible to the web we call it RESOLVING the HOST. It takes between 24 and 48 hours to propagate, but it can be much faster as quick as 3 hours.
If anyone can give me a good reason why not to use the ns3 and ns4 name servers, I would appreciate it, as they are definitely part of the network at the parent server.
OK, back to the mail horror story...
The attacks started at 10.00. PM and it was just getting worse. I created WA accounts at 1.00 AM. 8 hours later after a refreshing sleep, the name servers have resolved to WA and the mail attacks are gone forever.
Here was the message I got which told me... Houston, we have a problem!
But they did manage to install a DDos script on one of my local computers which altered the host when I used the computer to log in.
I sat here writing this blog while watching hundreds of emails per minute pour into my computer as I waited until the huge cache of mails had exhausted itself from the mail injection.
WEALTHY AFFILIATES takes care of all this
You should never have to worry about this happening to you with WA hosting. They deal with all that without you even knowing it, and leave you free to make money, which is just how it should be.
Thanks to @bobtosh (Jimbo) for the catchy title. We will see if it works for me.
See you @ the Top!

Very smart and techie Michael, I know where to send people now if they are stuck with a transfer:) and yes your title grabbed my attention:)
Hi Loes, Thanks and Google put on page 1 position 3, so it works just like @Jimbo said.
See you @ the Top!

A lot of that stuff goes over my head Michael but I'm glad that as a professional in all this, you can give us FURTHER reassurance that WA has our backs....brilliant!!
Mark
Hi TechniSmart If you remember me on Sunday morning this where I have problem to connect my domain to WA through Namecheap and they mentioned problems with propagations, so it is likely at the same time. Finally my domain got linked to WA as web host and it works. Lots of similarities there.
ooo well, I'm lucky I guess then coz I do not host externally as Id rather have things under 1 roof per say but......
And its a good way to be Simon. By the end of this week, I will be closing the dedicated beast for good.

Michael,
Scary stuff, for sure. I used to run through HostGator. While I never really had a problem like this with them, once I found WA it made no sense to stay there. In addition to getting more than the one site I was limited to with Gator, the training here is unparalleled. You really can't beat it!
I'm glad everything worked out for you. Take care.

Hi, Michael.
Thanks for this informative post. It is good to know that WA hosting is secure. I would find it very frustrating to deal with hackers on one of my sites.
Sorry for the late reply Adam. I t seems you are definitely following me. I have more time to focus on development this way.
