Las Vegas ……
Wouldn't it be great if we got to vote for someone from WA to be invited to Vegas with the big sellers? Someone who has been especially helpful to us by providing great information or support? Or someone who has inspired us, or maybe just made us laugh when we needed to?
Like voting for a Prom King or Queen?!
if you think this is a good idea and you have Kyle or Carson's ear, please mention it. If they like the idea, it was mine, if they don't, well.......... 🤣

Hi - well, the purpose of the Las Vegas trip is to reward those who bring in new premium referrals to the platform, and hence provide more revenue to the co-owners!
The Super Affiliates who make it to Vegas have worked hard for many years to earn their place. It doesn't seem right to give away an expensive trip just because somebody is popular.
Plus, it's not just a jolly holiday, it's actually a conference, a time for in-depth discussions about affiliate marketing and moving the WA platform forward.
Somebody who simply won a popularity competition may not be interested and have nothing useful to contribute to the meetings.
That'd be a disaster. Think about it. It's a popularity contest. I mean, look around here. It is already about who is popular and who isn't as far as general member reactions go.
Do you believe for a second that the number of likes and comments would be the same if people wouldn't know the author's name, the source of the post?
The current system is based on numbers. So if one has achieved that 300, Viva Las Vegas, one that achieved 299 or less, stay put and read about it later and try again next year. I like it that way.
People are manipulative and manipulatable by emotions. Numbers aren't.
It doesn't matter if it's anonymous or not. The most vote would go to the most popular member. Popularity vs Achieved Results. Do you think it would be fair? Popularity is subjective, but results based on numbers - for example having 300 premium referrals, - are not.
Actually yes, I think it would be fair because I’m suggesting it as an extra place, not to deprive one of the people who will have earned it in sales. But hey, it’s okay to respectfully disagree with each other I hope 😎

Nice try but I think that a voting system has challenges. For instance, it would promote lobbying for votes. Something that the platform could do without. Additionally, there are a number of members who are near invisible but are working hard on their sites and getting WA sign-ups. If I got 290 sign-ups and missed the Vegas 300 cut off I am not too sure how I would feel if someone got there due to a vote. Perhaps some algo could be developed to reward via a badge the most Helpful member.
Precisely.
As for a "help" algorithm, we have something like that in place but it mostly computes activity, regardless of the content. To design a code to measure the actual value of "helpfulness" must understand and analyse the content. Creating such a clever AI makes the biggest geniuses sweat. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM have been working on that but still not ready.
I think the Vegas incentive is great as is. No reason to fix what's not broken.
Fair enough Hugh. Apparently not one of my best ideas! 🙁
Crikey I wasn’t suggesting an algorithm! But okay, I take your point.
Jenny I want to encourage you to keep pumping out the ideas. Having a creative and innovative mindset is certainly a plus in this type of space. You win some and you may even lose some but this type of thinking will ultimately power you forward.
I asked a question on a similar subject a while back. If you are interested you can read it here What new wa accomplishment badge would you like?
Ah thanks Hugh, I was worried you were being sarcastic when you said ‘Nice try’! I have a dog walker because I don’t have the energy to walk my dog daily; no way I’d want to go to Vegas! Thanks for your lovely comment.
The pleasure of your contributions is entirely mine.
