Testing my patience

Patience - I need help.

Last night we were on the way to church, our study is on love and in this case we are taught that love is patient. Wonderful thoughts.

As I come up to a stop light I am sitting there behind another car waiting for the light to change. Finally, after what seems an eternity the light turns green.

Ow wow, let's go. Except the lady in front of me was not paying attention. I don't know what she was doing but after about 20 seconds sitting there, I lost my cool and beeped my horn. I guess that woke her up, we got through the light...

Now the conversation begins and my wife and I are talking about what love means, ah patience. Looks like I failed that one, guess I need to get set back in the class to relearn what I needed.

What is patience?

It is not what I have, it is what I want.

An online dictionary response - "The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset."
Leo Tolstoy wrote, "The two most powerful warriors are patience and time."

Greg Behrendt wrote, "I've learned that anything in life worth having comes from patience and hard work."
Ralph Waldo Emerson - "Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."

What did I learn - Patience is powerful, with it I can obtain whatever goal my heart desires, and if I want to learn patience I need to study its greatest user - NATURE.

Why is patience so important at WA?

Look I'll be honest, when I first started here I thought I would be seeing a regular profit within a short time. I really believed it! Was I misled? No I don't think so, I simply had the impression that this looked simple enough for an old guy like me.
What I learned is that I really knew very little about this. I had been misled by all those TV ads by Godaddy that implied that you could set up a website in a short time and be making a mark on the world with very little effort on my part - Sounds good but it is wrong thinking.

If you are ever going to make a mark on the world with your website you need to learn patience! If not you will end up quitting after a few months.

WA is really no different from any new business venture. Any new business take takes time to develop into a profit making tool. If this is true we must learn patience.

How do we learn to have patience?

Wait......

Practice patiently waiting for your desired dream.
That seems so simple but waiting is practicing patience.
It is like learning to hold your breath under water, it takes a lot of practice. But if you keep at it, in time you can learn to hold your breath longer and longer.

While you are waiting, do what you know how to do!

While you are waiting for the dollars to start rolling in, LEARN & APPLY. The reason that the majority of people don't make any money here at first is that this business is like a whole new world where we have to learn how to live in it.

There is an old book that I read quite a while back called The Great Divorce. In it the author takes you on a journey from earth to heaven where everyone feels totally out of place. You couldn't even walk there because the grass felt like sharp glass. It took time to learn how to walk around heaven. It was a whole new world.

That is what we have here, a whole new world and it will take most people time to learn how to walk. Give yourself time. Commit to at least one year of learning and applying what you have learned before you make any decision to quit.

Wait, patiently wait, practice it and keep practicing it until you get your new legs and can walk happily through this new world of marketing.

Hope something I wrote helps you on your journey. Please like and share this and leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Blessings

Hi Ray,

I must admit, I have changed my thinking about how long it will take to start earning online. I have started 3 businesses offline from scratch and none of them have been as challenging as this!

Patience is a virtue, they say, let's hope it also has a value!
Thanks, best wishes, Rob

Hi Rob. Glad you stopped by. It seems that there is ample opportunity to start earning faster as I have read of others success. I can only estimate that others got it together right from the start and jumped in with full time effort - and got quick results.
I am learning that it is very important to pick the right niche for you and being dedicated to do the research and work in order to see positive results.
Patience has value when you are going full steam ahead, eventually you will find the success you seek.
Blessings

Patience! Who needs it. I've done alright so far without any so why start now?

I know I must stop and think before going around shouting. Just have to practice what others preach.

Derek

Lol. Derek you made my day by stopping by and commenting.

I'm working on having patience here and everywhere. Like you I'm the one blowing the horn.

Hi Mickey. Yes we all need a little more patience... Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments. I hope that you are doing well.
Ray

I also thought this venture is easy but it's taking my patience for almost three years now.
If I don't love it I may have given up.

Hi Jimmy, I didn't realize that you have been around WA for that long, you definitely have figured the patience thing out.
Funny, when we love what we do we seem to have plenty of patience. Thanks
Ray

Patience and hard work

Amen to that Josephine. When it comes to our online business all the patience in the world don't make a difference unless we are hard at work on our sites.
Thanks
Ray

Hey Ray, That was a cool post. I too started out thinking I could start making $$ immediately, but then I saw that some people had been here 8 months and were still $-less. Time has proved the same for me too. 7 months and I'm still $-less. Your post says it all. I hope you don't mind if I quote you in an eBook I'm writing. You said it so well, "...WA is really no different from any new business venture. Any new business takes time to develop into a profit-making tool". Keep up the good work!
Blessings,
Linda

Well thank you for your kind remarks Linda. Sure I would be honored to be a part of your book.

Thanks Ray

Nice post. Patience is indeed a virtue. When I first started, years ago, very few people would stop and tell you that it takes time. So I always thought I was was doing something wrong or hadn't found the right method. It led me way off track.

I think a lot of folks still don't get it either.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael, thank you for stopping by. I know I have read others in the past stress the importance of allowing time for your domain recognized. Unfortunately many either don't get it or are hoping for quicker results. Either way they give up if it doesn't happen fast. Thanks again for your comments.
Ray

Well done Ray.

Patience is the key that open most doors. Little why people say the patient dog eats the fattest bone.

Unfortunately there is the microwave mentality ruling the world today. I often ask why is this generation so much in a hurry?

As you rightly pointed out, every good thing require patience to achieve them.

The important thing is not to allow complacency take advantage of us while we are being patient.

Stay blessed.

Segun

Thank you Segun for your kind remarks. Great point too, complacency will destroy progess.

Good evening Ray,

I was born in the month of May so I am a Taurus. They are known for having quite a lot of patience. There is a big but, if they see red, might happen once a year or even less, then everything and everybody better get out of the way.
I have been with WA since January 2017 and I am practicing my patience.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Thanks, now you have explained my brother in law so well. He was born in May too.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Ray

Ray, I have always said, "Lord, give me patience right now"! So needed and so lacking on my part. Honest confession.
Joe
