The Golden Ladder to Success

A very ambitious man decides to climb the Golden ladder to success, as he gets higher, he comes to a dimensional plane where he meets a very beautiful radiant brunette. She says to him: Come with me and spend eternity with me, I will make you very happy or climb the golden ladder further to success. He thinks to himself: Wow man! If this is what I get at this level, I wonder what awaits me higher up? He thanks her for her offer but declines and chooses to climb the ladder to success…

The next dimensional plane he meets the most glorious redhead with the most porcelain skin, she asks him to come with her and spend eternity of bliss together and he thinks to himself: Boy! Every man’s dream right here, this just keeps getting better! Yet being such a driven man, he thinks what lies at the top of this ladder must be the most magical attainment far better than all this. He declines and moves on.

Next he comes to yet another most ravishing embodiment of a Goddess in living colour, she is so attractive, he is totally enthralled by her beauty and she says: Come with me and let us spend all eternity together, I will make you the happiest man who ever lived! His head is reeling, he can hardly contain himself and yet his drive kicks in and he says to himself: Imagine what could lie ahead of this…? He thanks her and chooses to move on, she warns him that the next level is the end of his journey to success, he should choose wisely as there aren’t any more choices after her offer.

Elated he climbs with gusto to his destination, when he reaches the top of the golden ladder, he finds a half-clad fat, bald, toothless man. Aghast he asks: who are you? His host flashes a toothless smile and says: “I’m Cess”

Ok, here are some quotes that inspired this tale:

Practical wisdom is the quality of mind concerned with things just and noble and good for man … Regarding practical wisdom … it is thought to be the mark of a man of practical wisdom to be able to deliberate well about what is good and expedient for himself, not in some particular respect, e.g. about what sorts of thing conduce to health or to strength, but about what sorts of thing conduce to the good life in general … By Aristotle

Someone else wrote:

Lucky and privileged are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, because she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you could ever desire can compare with her. In her right hand she holds long life, riches and honour are in her left hand. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are so peaceful.

Wow, that is so super Awesome and so drop dead gorgeous: Wisdom is her name, I choose her more than anything.

“To attain knowledge, add things every day. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.”
Lao Tse

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
Albert Einstein

I hope my little tale makes you laugh or think or ponder or shake your head in wonderment or otherwise… Please share, like if you like, comment.

Above all I wish you Wisdom and Understanding!

Great post, I like it!
Best wishes,
Steve, a fat, balding, toothless man.

Lol, hey, fat, bald and toothless is at the apex of the ladder, remember...? :)

Yeh Sytemsinc you got it just like the popular saying goes, "One step at a time!".
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers.

Thanks for this funny post and really helpful.
Climbing to success step after step is one of
the keys to getting there.

Have a great day!
Ingrid

Great story I have heard that particular story, in another form and found it amusing.
To climb the ladder to success.
Regards Shane.

Acquiring wisdom is the key to success. It does not come automatically. Enjoyed the reading:)

Kimberleigh,
Lots to ponder on. It reminds me of the man climbing the ladder of success his entire life who realises the ladder has been leaning on the wrong wall...
Thank you
Peter
