What Does Helping Others Mean To You?
What it means to me may be totally different from the way you view helping others. We are all so caught up in our busy lives~~promoting our affiliate links, promoting our business, trying so hard to generate income; however is it all about making money?
In my eyes; it's not!!
My son Jake; now 23 yrs old, told me over Christmas that he remembers when we went to Walmart a long time ago that he remembered something that will stay with him forever. There was a young woman standing at the turn in by Wendy's holding a sign saying she was hungry and cold. My heart told me that I had to do something to help her.
Looking at my boys all nice & warm dressed in their coats & hats and their bellies full kept making me think about the poor woman with the sadness and desperation in her eyes. We see these scenarios every single day of our lives. Do you turn the other way? Or are you the kind of person that reaches out and take action to make a change?
I knew in my heart that I had to do something. It wasn't right to turn my head and look the other way like plenty of us do. We went through the drive thru and bought her a warm meal and coffee & gave her my last $5--the woman started to cry when we gave it to her. The look of hope that appeared in her eyes made me realize that I did the right thing. That was the day that my way of thinking changed.
That was back around 2001--ever since then I give as much as I can because there are people all around the world that have far worse problems than we all think. Imagine if you were that woman standing in the cold, not a dime to your name, hungry, and no one to help. What would you do?
The reason why I got into the home base business was to help others. People all around the world are desperately trying to find a way out of their financial struggles. (I will be changing the name to howiquitmyboss.com later today or tomorrow) I'm helping people gain financial freedom showing them how a little work, following simple step by step instructions, and helping them through out their journey will not only put a smile on their face~~it's also giving them a solution to their problems.

yes, great story. I agree with you that most of the ones with much turn their faces the ones with little are the ones that give. I had a non-profit for over 3 years and it was the hardest job I ever had. So, I quess it depends on where you are because some here would throw the bag of food at you. It's hard to help people, but God says to do it and let him take care of the rest. I use 10% of all my income to fund a ministry here in my little town, even though I do not have a 501 (3) anymore. Just feel bad for all the older folks and disabled that we have here in my area. We know who really needs the help and who doesn't most of the time the poor is the one donating to help the other poor people and the rich are buying new cars, but that is the world today.

Great blog!! People get lost in the search for riches when some of the most important riches are free. Giving someone a blanket when they are cold. Helping an elderly person across the street.
The other day I noticed a older woman standing by her car in the middle of the road. When I asked her if she was ok she replied she ran out of gas. She was there for 15 min she said.
15 min and nobody even asked her if she was ok. There was a gas station across the street but the attendant would not lend her a gas can. He would sell her one but she said all she had was a few dollars for gas. My mother (65) and I pushed her in the gas station.
She was sooo gratefull and happy it made me feel awesome inside.
Just helping other people in a time of need made my mother and I the richest people that day.

So why do I want to make money online? So I can not only support my family, but to bless other people. Having that extra income allows me the freedom to go and paint a house for someone, or pay for someone's kid to go to camp. I prefer to do it anonymously, for no other reason except that Christ died to redeem them, and if they are worth dying for, they are worth helping. Scatter the seeds, the plough is on it's way.
Life now a days are all about money. We can not survive without money. So how do you define life now a days? Ranking your priorities in your daily life can make you a successful person. When you use your priorities in the wrong way you will lose in every which way you can. So keeping track of what you want and where you heading will make you successful. So stop focussing on the money and concentrate on where you headin'
A homeless shelter in Indiana, PA is such a wonderful goal! If I end up making enough I would love to help children in orphanages....they must feel so lonely and unwanted....
Thank you~~helping orphanages is also an excellent goal~~all of those children need so much love~~even to volunteer as a big sister or big brother would be a great contribution in helping them.
Great post, Stephanie. One of my goals is to create a business online that will bring in enough of an income that I will be able to devote more money to helping others. Until then, I try to help by volunteering my time.

I love your blog Stephanie! You're so right, it's not all about making money, it's about helping people. My first site has nothing to do with making money. My site is to help other grandparents who are raising their grandchildren (and relatives raising relative's children), and I am also going to go for the grandchildren helping each other. I will monetize my site of course, but that is not my main purpose. After a while I will set up my making money at home site. I am in a bit of an unfortunate situation at the moment due to layoff but things are looking up, and I always take the time to be grateful for what I have and realize that so many others are in a way worse situation than me! And I always donate wherever I can no matter what. I feel that if everyone in the world cared more for others and helped each other then things would be so much better than they are. Thank you Lori~~I'm sorry about the lay offs, but it's good to hear that things are starting to look up. I have two websites that I'm working on~~both will be monetized as well~~I'm still going through the training but it's all coming together piece by piece.
