Yikes! Gas bill is $673 this month.
Our natural gas bill for the last month is $673. That does not include electricity, water, trash etc. The utilities alone will be over $1,000 this month. And of course that does not include internet and phone bills, property taxes and mortgage. It got very cold so I knew the gas bill would be high but this is a new record!
Thank goodness I know how to build my websites and get a second stream of income. It is very comforting to know I can always work harder here and make more if I need to!
Just to clarify, I am not saying we are desperate or anything. We are fine. I just thougth it was a good example of what we need to be prepared for. If we had not worked very hard to set ourselves up for potential hardships it would be a different story.

Wow, that's a lot. And I thought we had high gas bills!
Here in Czech Republic we have advance payments every month and then when the heating season finishes we get a final statement. So I don't even know how high or low the consumption is every month until I get the statement. Depending on the temperatures we pay about $1800 a year for gas.
Electricity is about half of it.
It is interesting for me to see the prices in different parts of the world, even in different parts of the US.

Yikes, when my gas bill goes over $50 I stress out. But then you live in Alaska so that must be expected.
When we got energy efficient windows our gas consumption dropped dramatically. So cannot complain.

Wow! Sounds like price gauging. A lot of gas and utility bills are rising ridiculously everywhere during the winter, then decrease back to normal during the spring and summer. It's unusually cold in the south too so prices seem to be increasing a lot in the south too! All the best to you!
Yes, in the summer it is like nothing. We all know that is how it goes here seasonally but this is the coldest it has been since we moved into this building so we didn't know how bad it would be.

What? Where abouts are you? I pay about $175 per month and we have a huge two storey house with seven people! I always complain about my utility bills but perhaps I have no reason to!
