Need Advice on How to Proceed With This One Please? -OR- How To Do Affiliate Marketing on a Shoestri
Ok, so I am working with a marketing agency in Chicago and I just had a very unexpected opportunity fall into my lap. I need advice on how to proceed with it- if anyone knows?
I have found they key in how to do affiliate marketing on a shoestring budget!
Essentially, I have been given the opportunity to offer an affiliate link for this lady's web service. I am helping her set up the email campaign materials for it right now, in fact. She wants me to offer her service to my contacts, clearly. She also said I could put a link on my website ("website" She's cute- I'm at about 10 now lol)
I asked if I could have others add it to their sites too? Of course, her reply was yes. So, if I split my profit with the affiliate marketer/website owner, how do I do that? I never, in my wildest dreams expected to become an affiliate before the end of my first month with WA! I am SO blown away by this!!
Oh yea- I earned my first dollar as an affiliate just YESTERDAY!
I know it's going to go well if I can figure out how to get it set up... help?

Susan, I have some information for you on how to set it up, track etc, but will have to find it:)
There is not enough information provided to advise you. I would not look on it as an opportunity to offer an affiliate link for anyone. Your contacts, or your list is your gold mine.
She would be glad to get access to your contacts, as they would be added to her list for future promotions.
If you have a large list I would tread very carefully here.
I think some of the membership plugins let you create affiliates. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not.
I think those are a different kind than what I am talking about here. Looking forward to working with you!

I would suggest a monthly advertising fee, so you don't have to set up any link tracking or anything like that.
I wouldn't mind putting the link on my website for free, but it has to be compatible with my niche.
That is so very kind of you! I think, however, that the affiliate payment would FAR exceed the monthly marketing price. It's good. Really good.
I will let you know when it's available if you'd like.

It was a matter of "right time and place" Ken! I seem to be doing a LOT of that these days!

Does this lady have an affiliate program that people can join? How will she track your affiliate link for payments? What is the rate she will pay? When and how will she pay you?
If she sells her products/service through a network such as JVZoo, ShareSale, Clickbank, Commission Junction or other, then you would get the affiliate links and info through the relevant network.
It is up to the owner of the business to provide affiliates with the above information and the promotional material and affiliate ID links that will be used in the tracking of sales.
I suppose there could be an informal arrangement between you and this lady if her product/service is not associated with an accredited affiliate network. Just not sure how she would know that you sent her a paying customer, unless you are provided with a tracked affiliate link. ~Jude
Well, as a partner of the marketing agency, I am protected under the contracts within that working relationship, as MY part of this is through that. It sounds to me like I'm the one who needs to go get established with the affiliate people. On the graphics- I just may be getting paid to create them lol
The pay has already been established. It's very good.

She wants to pay me my rate and I pay my affiliates out of that- make sense? That would make it MY affiliate program, wouldn't it? I'm so green at this lol

I suppose you can have your own independent affiliate program.
You can get a plugin in WordPress that could help:

For sure woohoo! One day I get an email saying I made my first dollar with WA because my friend signed up under me and set up his profile on a free account...
The next day, I'm trying to figure out how to offer affiliate banners!
Welcome to my crazy life!!
Anyone need a logo designed while I'm trying to do everything else? LOL I'm your gal!

I think you would need to set up an affiliate program as a vendor and give every affiliate access to their own, unique affiliate link.
I agree Steve! I am just unfamiliar with how to go about setting it up. I have already gotten some excellent advice here on this subject though!!
