Laziness is an obnoxious malady

No doubt you experience laziness at times: You need to do certain chores, not very urgent or demanding, but necessary; like doing the laundry, taking out the trash, mopping the floor, doing the dishes, polishing the car - things like that - but you are in a comfortable position and just don't feel like getting up. You are not tired, just that your lazy mood has got the upper hand of you. No need to think much about what to do because the job is staring you in the face and must be done.

Come on - Break that lazy spell!!

TRY THIS: Spring up immediately, attack that task with vengeance even though laziness seems to be holding you back. Before you know it, the job is done! Now you can relax without guilt.

It works for me, and I can tell you, it is very gratifying!

Nice blog Jem!
No Procrastination indeed. . .

Thank you.

Polish the car? Never! G\Funny, Yesterday morning before we headed out for brunch, the last get-together for the weekend, went upstairs to the bedroom to awaken my husband when my sister called, "there's a doe and baby in the yard." I repeated the statement to my husband who was asleep and who sprang up to look out the window to see the creatures in the yard. This sight is exactly why he loves to drive across the state of PA. He sprang up in spite of the chore of getting up after so many early mornings and late nights. Thanks for a great post. We should all think of what makes us as happy as deer in the yard and do those chores. Sorry to be so bloggy.

Great! Who would have thought that those little 'creatures in the yard' would cause one to spring up? Btw - Polish that car - good ,exercise. lol!

Yup! Just do it. Otherwise laziness becomes a habit and you are sitting around, times goes by and nothing gets done.

Very true, wise one - you're so right!

It IS gratifying WHEN I can get up and do it like that. Sometimes, though, it's not laziness but pure old procrastination. Still, the only way to get it done is to DO IT. Good advice!

True, I'm quite familiar with procrastination. It yields the same result, things don't get done or at least on their way to being done.

Yep! just do it. Really works for me.

Procrastination and laziness go hand in hand. Both produce the same effect. So you're right, Carla - just DO IT!
