A tip to save on your elecric bill
Did you know that your water heater is an electric current eater? How would you like to save a substantial amount off your electric bill?
Try this! Keep your electric water heater OFF until about 5 to 7 minutes before you are ready to take a shower. Switch it ON and remember to switch it back off when you are done. If you must use hot water in your kitchen sink, just heat the water in your kettle and that will do the trick. If you need it for your dish washer or clother washer, try to use it around the same time for both, then switch it off when you are done.
One more thing, Why not wash your dishes, etc. immediately after use? No need to use the dish washer; your sink will be always clean and you'll save on your bill. I know! Some people hate to wash dishes, but after you have got accustomed to doing that, it becomes a breeze. I wash every item I use in the kitchen immediately after use, so there's never a build up in my sink. I love it!!
I had been paying an outrageous amount per month for my electric bill until I decided to control my water heater and, believe me, my bill has been reduced to about half the amount.
Think about this, as long as the water heater is on, it heats up and cools down, and heats up and cools down, and heats up and cools down for as long as you keep it on; so why not just put it on when you need it? Do the same for your air conditioner and put it on only when you r-e-al-ly need it.
Try these tips and SAVE!

You can also unplug all the appliances that you're not using, like the microwave, electric can opener, toaster, etc., and that will also cut down on your bill.
Hi Phyllis
Great idea. Point well taken. I didn't realise that the microwave uses current while plugged in but not in use.
