Generate YouTube Traffic Without Videos
We all know that YouTube is a great source of traffic but, maybe you are not ready to make your own videos or maybe you have published videos already and haven't generated the kind of traffic you hoped for. I am definitely in the second category.
However, the technique I'm about to share is something that has, and continues to work well for me. In fact, this technique drives much more traffic to my site than my own videos ever did.
Leveraging Other Peoples' Videos
Whenever I watch a video on YouTube, I always read at least a few of the comments. I suspect many of you do the same thing. If you watch videos related to your niche, there is gold in the comment section!
Here's an example; today I did a YouTube search for the phrase "Make money online". Then, I scrolled past the paid ads and click the top organic result. The video I found has already gotten over 160,000 views and it's less than 2 months old!
That is an average of over 22,000 searches per week. And what kind of comments do you think people are leaving on these sites? "I'm making a fortune at whatever.com". Now, most people are savvy enough to know that they will be lead to an affiliate offer but, many are curious enough to at least do a little research. How do I know this? I'll show you.
Keyword Research
Most people at this point would think (product name) followed by (review). I do it a bit differently. I ask the question, What is (insert product name) I often find that there are thousands of monthly searches with a QSR of less than 50.
This technique has a couple of huge advantages.
There is very little competition for "What is" keyword phrases. And, because you didn't use the word review in your title, people do not expect to find a review. They are just looking for general information.
How hard is it to gather information and put it into your own words? Not very.
What To Do With All This Traffic
When I was new to the business, I got lucky and stumbled across a very HOT keyword phrase with almost NO Competition. My article quickly shot to the top of the Google search result and brought me hundred of visitor per day. Unfortunately, I was not very aggressive in marketing my main product and I squandered all that traffic!
Now, I will insert a headline somewhere in the middle of the article to entice people to click over to my WA review. By tweaking the headline here and there, I have been able to send as many as 20% or more of my visitors to my WA review. I can tell you that this had a huge impact on the number of accepted invitations.
I hope some of you will give this a try because it really does work. If you have any questions, please let me know. Rock on!

You have to make sure you do it right don't put to much on other peoples video or they will report you for spamming and you could be banned from youtube
You are not leaving comments on people's videos. You are writing articles based on other peoples spam comments.

Steve I missed the point, please add a few words here.
1. You are saying that adding a comment with link under somebody's video I can drive traffic to where I want. I just searched the word you gave as example and I see that many are doing this. Question - are there penalties for this?
2. What are you suggesting with the section about keywords and with the phrase 'what is..." . This is in general, not related to YouTube, right?
3. About headlines, this is again not related to YouTube? So, I already have sections with section titles. Adding such extra headlines looks ugly, they mix with my existing section titles. How to do this properly?
Thank you.
NO. This is about getting keyword phrases from the comments.
For example, someone writes, "I'm making $3,000 per week using" (some product)
People will then use Google to look for information on that product.

Thank you, I understand now. You are right, this obviously works.
I have seen your video before. This example form the video is really great.
Hey Steve, I am just starting out, however, this gets flagged ready for take off.
I agree with all of the comments below - a very unselfish and generous blog.
Thanks

Thank you Keith. Sharing those little gems is what this place is all about for me. Hopefully some great results will come out of this for others as well.
That's brilliant Steve and thanks for sharing this with the community.
It's this sort of skill and tip sharing that sets WA apart from any other platform out there and another of the reasons I'm so glad to be here.
Mark
Thanks Mark. I posted a training video on this quite a while ago and according to my keyword research, it is still a fairly unknown and highly underutilized technique.
Wow! That's awesome! I never thought of leveraging YouTube like that but I definitely will now. My niche is earthquake preparedness and I don't make videos but I'm sure there are a lot of disaster videos out there so it would be a great place to leave a comment. Thanks for this!
