How to find 5 keywords for your blog posts!

Greeting from Adelaide in South Australia!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, especially my friends in the USA!

When you have finished writing your blog post and then need to add up to 5 tags before you can publish your post...how often & how long does it take you to come up with 2 - 5 tags? Especially relevant tags?

In the beginning it drove me nuts!

I may have a solution for you!

Go to your google search bar and type in the name of your niche, the name of your target market, the name of your product (turn it into a question) or type in anything that is related to what you are trying to get across in your post.

For example...type in the word 'motivation' or 'how to motivate people'...

When you have done that, scroll down to the bottom of page where you will find the most searched for words or phrases, in this case...

Searches related to 'how to motivate people'

what to say to motivate someone

how to motivate others

how to motivate someone who is depressed

how to motivate someone who is lazy

how to motivate others to achieve a goal

how to motivate people to change

how to motivate someone to study

what motivates students

Do you think you might be able to find 5 keywords to place in ADD TAG now?

And not only that, you never know, you might find your post ranking much closer to Page 1 a lot faster than what you are now!

Great post, thanks. I'm still relatively new and realized I paid little attention to tags while I posted. Great process idea. Just finished tweaking all my tags. Thanks!

You're welcome...
Anything to try and make things work better! :)

I do have a question: When I changed to Yoast they allowed only ONE keyword, which didn't seem ok to me. You are talking about 5. There is a gap, I don't really get what is right or wrong, or at least better or worse.....

He isn't talking about the Yoast Keyword. He is talking about wordpress tags.

Ah, you mean the categories?

Tags are similar, but not the same thing. Number 8 on the following image: http://www.wpbyhand.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/wordpress-blog-post-screenshot-with-instructions-1.jpg

Thank you, will check the link out!

Are you sorted now Heidi???

I know about the tags on the wordpress sites, but I actually never use them as it seems double indication with category and tags - which would probably more or less the same.
Thanks for asking!

Thanks Steve I'm going to try that and see what happens.
