The perfectionist gets ready or lessons from a mother duck..

I am a perfectionist. First I cross my t's and dot my i's. Then, I step back and look at it a while. Then, read and reread. I ask myself if I'm ready yet. Then I ask myself if I'm SURE I'm ready. The other day I received an email that changed all that. It said I didn't have to wait until all my ducks were in a row because that's simply NOT what a mother duck does. No, she doesn't wait around for the line to form before she sets off. She just hops off the curb and waddles across knowing full well that her ducklings are forming a line and following close behind. I am practising being a better mother duck.

Good thought Stephanie. I have had a tendency to have to have my ducks so in a line that sometimes I spent all my time getting ready instead of being productive. But nothing wrong with wanting it to be good..is there?

Right on! That is true what you said. They will follow!

Being a mother duck is not a problem, you try mother cat and be sure that your kittens are making a line behind you.:)

You will do just fine, mothering comes with time!

I am a perfectionist too. ;)

Great advice! I'm a perfectionist too and I found that I spend unnecessary time being one sometimes. Now I just move on and come back later if it still bothers me. I've found that it usually doesn't.

I can totally relate to this, it's a difficult roadblock to overcome sometimes!

Duck 'la orange' .........mouthwatering

Ducky!
