Ooops. I did it again! :P
No, I'm not Britney! LOL! But I tripped over my own feet and got in my own way again. Of course, my absence from here for the past month or so is quite legitimate, as I was dealing with a lease that was ending, in a duplex that was suddenly up for sale, and a home that was broken into and trashed!
I had been away from home on an extended trip when I joined WA, whilst helping my mother recover from a bad fall that left her with a fractured pelvis. She had a remarkable recovery, though, and after ten weeks (and 500 miles) away from my Florida home, I finally decided that it was time to go home again.
A few days before my planned departure, I got a call from the property manager saying that the landlord had decided to sell the duplex. With my annual lease three weeks from ending, they could only offer me a month-to-month lease until a new owner was found. However, the realtor needed to get in and take pictures, so I rushed home to get everything prepared. After being away so long, I needed to be sure that my little home, though always neat, was presentable for the scope of the pictures that realtors always seem to take.
Unfortunately, after over eleven hours on the road, I came home to find that my sweet haven was a disaster due to the break in, and that I would never feel safe there again. Plus, instead of taking replaceable things like my TV, Roku, or blu-ray player, they stole many personal and sentimental things, including my father's ashes. The cops, of course, had no leads and stated the obvious: that it was clearly personal. I know none of my friends would have been responsible. I had suspicions about my neighbor's son and his young girlfriend, but alas, I had no proof the cops could use.
So I was left to clean up what remained of my life, and one thing was clear: I was not going to sign any new lease! I don't recommend trying to pack up a lifetime of things in the space of three weeks, but I did it. I didn't really have the funds to move, so I had to let go of many things I would have preferred to keep, fit what I could into my car, and head back to my mom's house.
So here I am, making a new life in a new state. It will be a long while before I can afford a place of my own again, and when I do, I'll need to get all new household items, furniture, etc. It's definitely an exercise in starting over! The same is true for me here at WA: I'm starting over.
Yes, I'm still struggling to find a niche, and still wondering what I'm passionate about besides Star Trek! LOL. :P Soooo, here I go again, but I know I'm not alone. :)
PS... why do we have to add at least two tags to every blog post? :P

I'm sorry to hear of the break-in Stephanie! That is never good! I'm glad your mother is recovering nicely, and I know that these setbacks will prove to be fortuitous in the end, and that you will come out GREAT on the other side!
Take care!
Tags help in location of the post by its subject matter. There are other reasons though too!

So sorry to hear of so much 'not good stuff' going on for you. Who knows, maybe living with or closer to your Mom will be a blessing in disguise. Huge shame your Dad's ashes are missing. :(
Is there a niche for being 'portable'? Or resilient?
Paula
Am so sorry for what you are passing through.
But, I believe all will come to pass.
Just trust in the most high.
Everything that happens in life, happens for a reason.
Soon you will come to realise that, nature plays it's role always.
Stephanie028: My sympathy goes out to you. We had a similar situation in 2017 by flooding in the Harvey Hurricane. It broke us. We have only now begun to truly
recover. Farrald Belote, Houston, TX

Hi Stephanie, try these 2 tutorials to help you with your niche search: Need help finding a niche? I've got you covered. How to find your passionate niche topic and narrow down broad niches. Let me know if you have any questions or need a hand with this.
Vitaliy G: I believe I remember you saying that you were active in the vacation travel business for a long time. Is that an accurate memory on my part? I have been thinking of what I and my wife have been interested in during our long marriage and European travel was our main vacation every year after we met Nita Warriner, who was a well-known and very successful travel agent here in Houston quite a while back now. She was in business with a partner named Joy Greiner when we met Nita through some close friends that had a home in Normandy, France that we enjoyed visiting. Did you ever work with either Nita or Joy, or know of them for their activity in the Houston Travel business? I believe
I would enjoy working in a niche that was dedicated to the vacation travel business and could understand it and make a good contribution to it with the intense background of travel
experience that I have had. Do you believe that I could find
a true niche in that business now to apply myself to being
an Affiliated Marketing professional? Would that business be a
reasonable one to build a website around and build a business
on for the next few years, do you think?
Thanks for any free advice you might supply that is worth at least what it cost. I would like to meet you and talk this over. Farrald Belote
