Any Good Budgeters Here?

Okay...back to over 200 in rank...It's only a number...!

I'm not blaming this on Shiny Button Syndrome, but am facing the fact I should budget much more tightly. Does anyone feel the same on their WA journey to success? My current stats for investing in Internet marketing goes something like this:-

WA Yearly - $359

Jaaxy Pro - $19 per month

Aweber - $15

Thrive Architect Yearly - $273

Tailwind Yearly - £199

Screencast-o-matic. $19 a month

IdPLR - Lifetime Membership paid for (Phew!)

I think my mistake was opting to pay for Wealthy Affiliate, Thrive Architect and Tailwind around the same time of the year, even when I still am yet to see an improvement in sales.

I have just paid WA for the month and will be making use of the Black Friday event in November, God-willing.

Budgeting and being tech savvy will have to be improved. In a very big way....

I am sure I am not the only one. The only thing that really keeps me going is that I have come too far to turn back. I love writing, the WA community spirit and the fact that WA is simply the best training online for affiliate marketing and connected training.

If any of you are new or are getting tired of writing and not seeing much success, please hang on in there! Success starts small and then it snowballs....You mark my words.

Much love and peace,

Stella

Hi Stella,
I just took a look at this budgeting post and noticed a couple of improvement suggestions for your site - Top Affiliate Pro:
1. The banner images on front page still have "Lorem ipsum...text" I suggest you modify this to appeal to your target audience
2. Address on bottom is a default address in New York
3. Social media icons on the top, suggest you remove G+ as this is no longer operating
4. None of the social media icons work, suggest hooking them up to yours.
I hope this helps

On the budgeting side,
APPROACH 1
Your approach seems to be something along the lines of "if you build it the income will come"
Another perspective I have is if I has such high overheads as you have, I'd be working really really really hard to monetise soon

APPROACH 2 - increase spending gradually to match income/traffic increases.
My approach is to hold off on the monthly/large costs until I'm monetising and then pay for them then. So that's why I've held off on monthly costs unless I HAVE to, and also:
1. Thrive architect even though I'd love to have it
2. Tailwind, even though I'd love to have it (getting closer to buying that one)
3. I bought Screenflow (once off cost)
4. Jaaxy Pro - am gutsing it out with Jaaxy Lite and STILL ranking well.
Generally I do a ton of research to find anything that replaces the monthly costs. There are some softwares that are coming out of JVZoo etc for lifetime (e.g. email service providers) if you research for them.

I hope these alternate perspectives help, John

A bunch of thanks to you John for such thorough and honest feedback. I really appreciate this.

I have just changed my theme as of yesterday and will have to contact the theme developer regarding the changes to my site you suggested.

I spent at least 1.5 hours trying to edit it yesterday.

As for the budgeting side, you are definitely right. I bought 3 large notebooks yesterday, for writing at least 2 posts per blog per day. That is equal to 4 a day.

I am doing this full time, so have no excuse not to put in the work.

My weak point was not knowing what to write next. However, there is lots of information on the web about things I am interested in regarding my niche. So I will just do the research, write and edit the posts in a simpler way that is also easy to understand for newbies before publishing.

I have also downgraded to Jaaxy Lite as you have done.

Tailwind and Thrive Themes will be paid for, but am not sure how.

I was thinking of giving proof reading services on Fiverr, but as I could not upload a photo, I decided to stick with this (WA) until I see results.

Adding Fiverr to the mix would have taken from time spent editing my WA work on the sites.

Once again, thanks for encouraging me John.

Much obliged,

Stella

Hey Stella "I am doing this full time, so have no excuse not to put in the work."
That is pure gold, go for it!
You have the best tools and can easily increase your costs later (Jaaxy Pro), but I think that's enough costs for now. Time for tons of work and your income will surely flow.
You have inspired me to work harder, get more income and THEN increase my costs and better theme and tools that you have

Glad to be of inspiration John...

We will get there!

I only pay for a yearly WA membership.

Okay...

I have thought about paying for some of the things you listed. I decided to wait until I was making some money from my website.

Thanks for your honesty and sharing.

Best wishes,
David
