I like to draw your attention to this article I just read this morning. I have to say I was shocked. I know this has nothing to do with building a online business, but it has something to do with our planet where we live. It seems to me we do everything possible to destroy our planet.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new...

If everyone would think twice of using plastic or start to recycle with a conscious mind we would be able to reduce a lot of waste, and or at least turn it into energy. In Asia I am always amazed how many poly bags and plastic containers you get. I made it a habit that I bring my own bags for shopping and I refuse the poly bags and plastic forks and knifes . If everyone takes a bit of effort it takes us a long way.

How many plastic forks and spoons we need, do we need for our take out food every time the plastic fork , spoons and knife. No we don't.

Here are a few facts about the plastic usage in the sea in numbers

300 million - tons of plastic alone produced globally each year

12 per cent - amount of plastic which is recycled

Five trillion - pieces of microplastic in ocean, with one rubbish truck load added each minute

11,000 - pieces of microplastic ingested by humans each year from seafood

780,000 - microplastics humans will ingest by the end of the century if trends continue

8.5 billion - plastic bags used in English supermarkets annually before 5p charge

6 billion - estimated bags removed from circulation annually at last count, an 80 per cent reduction.

12 minutes - useful lifespan of average plastic bag

Please everyone old, young, rich or poor consider twice the next time you are offered plastic or any other package we don't really need.

The Dalai Lama said

Humans spent Millions to research the life on a another planet, and Humans spent Billions to destroy our planet we are living on.

We take this and put it into the right mind and direction, than we don't need to look for another planet to live on.

Please read the article and share it , to make as many people aware of what we are doing.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Cheers Sylvia

Thanks for sharing.

you are welcome

Thank you for that, hopefully you will touch some and they will start to change.

I am sure I will, and I hope I make people aware. Especially Parents to teach their children.

It will definitely help to preserve our planet if everyone just do their small part in using less or no plastic.

Yes, to do this we have to start spreading the word and educate our children. Everyone can do it in daily life just thinking do I need this plastic bag or not.

it is sad that people don't appreciate their environment and want to take care of it---we've become a disposable enviroment

So unfortunately true. This article this morning made me really said.

It is unfortunate but we are ingesting micro plastics.

It is terrible, we are playing games with our health

Good Morning Sylvia,

I am also worried about this and that is why I write about these things on my website.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

It is great that you write on the website you can reach lots of people and spread the word. I think we need to start educating our children to cherish and safely keep our planet.

I recently saw a video about a newly discovered heap.....humans are definitely our own worst enemy and it is beyond tragedy what we have done to our planet and all living creatures....

Yes Rosie, unfortunately, we are our worst enemy. It is so sad to see such a beautiful place full of rubbish. All these poor animals living there and getting caught in it.

Well said, Sylvia! If everybody just does their bit in thinking about the environment, things would drastically improve.

I definitely support you in creating this awareness!

A small thought goes a long way. I agree on that. It was shocking for me to see all this rubbish in the ocean.

We've been buying cloth reusable bags Sylvia!

That is great and I do love my own bags. We also use reusable bags, even here in Singapore, sometimes I get a funny look from the cashier but that does not bother me. If they would charge you for poly bags like in Germany many would think twice using a polybag or their own.

Thanks for sharing, Sylvia.

You are welcome, I hope you also consider using less plastic. Thanks for stopping by
