There seems to be much controversy between becoming an affiliate for Amazon or eBay and we all have our personal preference. If you are an eBay advocate, I have no intention of offending or swaying you.
I have worked with both in the past; selling and as a customer. I gave up too soon in selling. However, my sister is making @ $1600/mo in profits on eBay. I still prefer Amazon. She works too hard for her money! I taught her years ago prior to discovering the differences between the two, Amazon and eBay. Both will make money. It is a preference and depends on your goals.
Amazon is my preference because it is easier to work with. With eBay, you frequently find yourself setting up your own listings. With Amazon, your listings already exist in the system (due to volume) and there is no measuring, picture taking or listing. With an app, you can click on your phone and make money prior to leaving the store by calling it in to Amazon. You ship bulk items later, after making the sale working with Amazon. Amazon takes care of shipping and everything else concerning the customer. With eBay, you will take care of shipping, etc. Some enjoy making money off of shipping. Why ship to each customer when you can ship to Amazon and they do it for you? Of course, on eBay you can make money off of shipping. Vendors on eBay seem to charge whatever they feel like charging.

Most of my shopping is online. Numerous times when contacting eBay customer service, I was told a refund was on the way and never saw it. Once I ordered boots and was sent socks. Never received a dime for the item i didn't receive. Several times with Amazon I requested a refund and it was granted, no questions asked.
The average profit margin on Amazon is @ 40%. Did you know that during the holiday season (Christmas) it is ranked #5? What is eBay's ranking? Amazon had 300 million credit cards on file last year and at least $88 billion in revenue. eCommerce, in all arenas is in it's infantile stages @ $327 billion in revenue last year. Amazon is the highest ranked eCommerce on the internet and ranks very well with Youttube and Google. Amazon's sales are skyrocketing. Amazon has a Prime club for $100/year. if a person shops online frequently, in expedited shipping they save a bundle plus they receive discounts on games, books, music, etc. Does eBay have such a program?
Both will make you money. Amazon has more traffic per the ratings. I enjoy delegating all the hard work to Amazon and saving time that I will never get back. Amazon's ratings allow for more revenue and copious free buying traffic. In conclusion, my personal choice is Amazon because eCommerce is in the infantile stages and is expected to dominate the market. Bloomberg states, "Clicks beat bricks".
My next blog will contain statistics on eCommerce, eBay and Amazon.
