Surprised? Don't be!
I'm talking about a $2.1 billion niche market which is taking over the dating world like never before.
And no, is NOT an oversaturetaed niche!
The truth is that are only a few big companies serving the senior dating niche ... and more importantly, there's plenty of growth to made!
With literally millions of lonely seniors looking for their romance, there's plenty of opportunity for yourself, as a marketer to step in with an unique angle and attack with action and persistence.
According to several reports ...
- The industry has expanded at least 3.5% per year since 2008. Every year!
- And recently literally exploded! Grew 89% in the past 5 years!
- The 50-to-65 age group is the online dating site's fastest-growing demographic, up 89% in the last five years.
- 50 to 65 demographic 71% are divorced and 11% are widowed
- In their quest for love and companionship, computer users aged 55+, accounted for 16.7% of all traffic to on-line personal sites!
Long story short: is a HUGE market.
People are buying mostly books, but the only limit is your imagination ... Books, albums, reviews, supplies, subscriptions, apps, podcasts, magazines, etc, etc
More than that, there will always be newer and better products to promote ... products that will generate sales as well as repeat sales for you.
The biggest advantages: this niche is still growing ... continuously.
And don't forget: the target audience, male and female aged 50 above tend to have disposable income to spend!
I'd say that is another precious gem. A big and timeless opportunity for affiliate marketers ...

Wow, this is amazing news! Never looked at dating sites before and certainly not for seniors. Trying to think how to actually monetize that.
Philip is 66 and I am 61 this month, right after Xmas!
But hey, who's counting!? Still, plenty of time to make some $$$'s online. At least we are in great health.
Age is only a number, which in this case forms a line.
Every year more and more people are going to be crossing that line (within certain limits).
So the base of potential clients/customers who are internet savvy will only grow.
So will the potential for affiliate marketers like us to better help solve the problems they'll be having!

I think you are right on about the size of this market.
I would caution against trying to compete against the actual dating sites for this demographic.
I spent 8+ years working with a client on just such a website, and they could never crack through the competition the OurTime and Match.com etc. sites bring.
These sites literally spend millions on promoting their product.
But, as a niche designed for this group you are very right. I would add the ideas of writing content on how to successfully negotiate through these big dating sites. And, how to distinguish between real and fake profiles, etc. And, as you say, market products that deal with dating when over 50.
I think some of these dating sites have some pretty good affiliate programs as well.
I’m brand new so I need to ask. I wouldn’t be trying to compete in the dating site world, just promoting one of their sites ( our time possibly). Pls explain.
