Daily Facts - Day #23: The growth of ecommerce is out of this world!
Today I'll share with you 10 hair-raising ecommerce stats. Here they are ...
According to Disruptive Advertising ...
1. Amazon accounted for 44% of all U.S. ecommerce sales!
2. U.S. shoppers spent $5 billion online during 2017’s black Friday!
3. 96% of Americans have made an online purchase in their life!
4. An inconvenient returns policy deters 80% of shoppers.
5. 72% of shoppers return 10% or less of purchases.
6. Americans spend 64% of their shopping budget in-store, and 36% online.
7. 88% of shoppers characterize detailed product content as being extremely important to their purchasing decisions.
8. 38% of people will leave a website if they find the layout unattractive!
9. Ecommerce is growing 23% year-over-year, yet 46% of American small businesses do not have a website!
10. More than three-quarters of online shoppers would like their orders shipped the same day!
Personally, I think that the above stats are literally intimidating.
And I'm pretty sure that such figures can - and most likely will - skyrocket our avidity ...
Which can be a good motivator ... But, never forget ...
Consumers are statistics, customers are people!
Do you agree?

We must never forget that we are helping and selling to real humans, not statistics.

I think these are excellent e-commerce stats/analytics. The article provides insights into the American consumer/persona mindset, behaviors, attitudes, customer journey detail necessary to ensure a targeted, customized approach when building awareness, engagement, outreach via our websites.
The 2018+ American consumer is demanding, tech savvy, well-informed, (via their own online research) and so I think businesses have to strive to continually stay motivated, knowledgeable of their marketplace/niche, consumer trends etc. i.e. be on top of their game.
I think WA has build an excellent foundation upon which we/myself, a newbie, can grow. Awesome sauce :)
Thanks for sharing!
You are right you need a very deep pocket, to make it in e-commerce. That why I switch to Affiliate, No sales taxes to collect no products to find. I just save 40% of the money I make on Affiliate commission for taxes at the end of the year. Much easier.
Well, it's is a little bit less but you will have more than enough to pay Taxes. Why be short and wonder where the rest is coming from.
