Making progress - 2 weeks and a bit
It's been just over 2 weeks since joining WA, and I feel like I've made a lot of progress.
I've got both my sites up and running, content and the layout I like in each. Need lots more content but that is coming - it's just a matter of having enough time to do everything!
I got my first WA referral on the 12th day of my WA membership - my site was only live for 3 days and had only just gotten indexed by Google when the first referral came in! I think that's an awesome result - one, or a few referrals won't make me rich, but everyone should know it's possible, and looking for steady growth is the key. It takes time and work, and lots of learning.
I've gotten adsense activated on my cooking site, and Google tells me the clicks and money should start rolling in LOL. I'm going to have to learn to filter the ads a bit better - I really don't believe that a mum of 53 looks 27 and is making the cosmetic surgeons angry...be gone spammy cream! If only I could get someone to buy something through Amazon before my 30 days is up and the account gets cancelled.
One thing I need to do is get my social media moving. I have Yummly on the cooking site (I really like their recipe cards - so easy to use!), and I've set up some facebook pages and twitter accounts - need content into them as well, which is a bit slower going.
And Google analytics... argh still so much to set up!
Unfortunately I've gotten a job offer that I just can't refuse ... unfortunately - sounds wrong doesn't it? It is fortunate, I'm lucky to have this opportunity with my IT career to support my family. But it does mean that I'll have less time for WA. I still plan to keep going - eventually I want to be in a position where I can tell the corporate gig I don't need their money :)
That's it for now - love being able to report some progress - I'm not even through the Get Started Course or the Affiliate Bootcamp. I suspect finishing those will take me a couple of months to do properly. Patience is the key :)

Congrats on the job. That's great news. I've jumped out of jobs before without having the next thing set up. It does mean I have time to dedicate BUT without the financial safety net, it can get a bit scary!!!!
Keeping the job and working on the side till you have the income or until you can't take it to the next level without leaving is a savvy way to do it!!
Although, it turns out I don't take my own advice as several times in my life now I have shown myself to be a "leap and the net will appear" kinda gal!!!!
Keep going... You will get there!
very inspirational, congrats and thanks for sharing. Now back to work for me...Ca-ching!!!
Great information and very encouraging for us newbies! Sounds like you have been very busy...Great work!
Hey we joined at almost the same time - we can grow through it together! Honestly anyone coming in here for a get rich quick method is going to be so disappointed. Nothing comes for free, and this is a lot of work - but eventually it should pay off. Patience is not my forte but I'm working on it :)

Hey there Sara, that's fantastic news for you on a few fronts....
a referral, adsense on your site and a new job (boo)!!
Well done, you might have a few less hours to dedicate to WA but it's not a race and you'll get there eventually.

Yep, you're right about the race thing...this is slow and steady. And I figured out how to get rid of that spammy cream ad too :)
Brilliant Sara...tortoise and hare
