Don't Pee on My Leg, and Tell me it's raining
Or, don't blow smoke up my butt. Here we are in the wonderful world of online marketing. A not so friendly place, a place of fierce competition, niche wars, and the never ending fight to get that almighty Google, to like us.
Google has changed it's algorithms more than many people change their underwear, (something I don't worry about, i like commando.. that will be another blog... maybe) No one really knows what Google wants.
So we have seasoned vets trying to adjust, and we have newbies, who we are trying to help, and telling those newbies all is well and your site is pretty... well, that isn't helping them.
I actually looked at a few sites that people wanted feedback to, and I just couldn't bring myself to comment. I know if I had, they would have came up with a bad case of butthurt, and I would have came up with a bad case of feeling bad.
I think everyone deserves a chance, and if they put their heart and soul into what they are doing, they deserve that cyberspace pat on the back, but then you have others that...well I can't really explain it, but if that is their best, their best isn't good enough. They have to try harder.
I'm no expert, if I was, I'd be teaching others how to do this all, but I am trying. The little I do know, I try to pass on and help others, that's all we can do. That online world can be tough, but if you love it, put on your big boy pants, tighten your belt, and get your hands dirty, cause today we are going to work.

I got my butt handed to me by quite a few people when I first started. It is a learning process to be sure.
Take a look at my sites and tell me the truth. Based on some sites I have seen mine suck. Trulygoodlife.com and goodinetwork.com
Great post, and sometimes but hurt is what is needed.
I am helping a couple that are starting to do good. but it still will take them months.
I am so glad to see this well needed post. I would rather be scolded by a friend than flattered by an enemy any day.
Skip, I am a newbie and I want honest feedback. Kind but brutal advice. I know nothing about this online world, except what I am learning here. Have been very busy the last two weeks at home on a building project, no WA, but have every intention on learning and improving on my beginner site. Ideas for articles are rolling around in my head and need to get out. I realized I need to learn and become adept at Wordpress. I know nothing about plugins. Haha. I know nothing will become, I know a sliver! As I learn and improve will start the many other ideas I have. It is a journey and this is the boat taking me to wherever I will end up. Best wishes
