I asked this in the chat as well.

If I use the affiliate link on a blog post from another member, or an article, and if someone were to create a membership account from

It is OUR own affiliate link that appears in every forum and on every post. This means we can share someone else's article but with our affiliate link - so we get the benefit. Not the other person or the author of the post.
If the author shared their own post, or a training, then they will get the benefit because it is direct effort that they have put in.

That for example this post at the top there is the affiliate link this is unique to that member reading if I want to share this I click the link then copy that same link and post it where I feel necessary.

That link has my affiliate code embedded within it however if someone were to read this same section and click the link they will find their affiliate coded embedded instead.

If someone were to read this that I shared and joined I would get the referral.

You can test it out if you wish

Go to one of my blog posts and click the link you will find your affiliate code is embedded there to share and if they sign up you would get the referral not me as you have given your affiliate link by sharing my blog.

same for anyone else their link would show on the same blog post unique to them.

Hope that helps.

Andre

If the affiliate link is from another member, he/ she will get the affiliate commission as that person's affiliate ID would be embedded in that link.

If you want to earn the commission for yourself, you would have to make sure that your affiliate ID is embedded in the link which you use.

Hope it makes sense,

Meena

You would, as it's your afdikiate link in the url.
Of course, the author would get noticed because you are sharing their work, but if they sign up, it will be yours...

Although, that brings up another point...

Since WA cookies never expire (or at least within a 365 day period), does the author (the one you linked up to share article) get credit for a referral if the person continues reading the linked authors stuff?
Let's say, they go to the profile, click on one of their websites, and sign up with WA from there?

Is this similar to creating a link, and as long as the person used your link, you would get credit if they sign up (make a purchase)?

Hmmm...maybe a question for support!

Rudy

That's a great question as well. I'm looking forward to the replies

Wait, explain:
"By using ANYONE else's affiliate link, you are simply giving the affiliate credit for the sale and NOT you."

Giving the affilate credit for the sale TO WHOM?

Could not view image at this time for some reason...

So, what you're saying is that we don't gain anything by using the affiliate link on a WA post.

That doesn't make sense. Why would we link an article to benefit the author?
It's our affiliate link in the url..

What am I not seeing here??

You're not missing anything. You are right. It is OUR affiliate link which we can clearly see when we click on it.

I do not believe we have access to each others affiliate links.

When we click the affiliate link at the top of any members blog post it is OUR link and we get the referral if someone comes to WA via that link and joins.

Have now deleted my comments Rudy. Sorry for butting in.

I respect your input and did not think you were butting in at all.

Rudy...

Ok, whew! It didn't make sense, it's our link on each post so we can share it where on social media or in our own writing content.

Thanks, Lisa!

Hey I am Lula
This is really an interesting question thank you for asking it I am writing good content and hoping someone lands on my blog posts.
Wishing you a terrific day.

I saw a WA blog post about monetizing using the affiliate links above our WA blogs to promote the content. notice the button on all sorts of content here, and so it got me thinking. I'd like to get a few new WA memberships in order to start making some income,

Good practice when posting on social media is to use articles from sources other than your own content all the time. We have such a wealth of information, blog posts, questions, and more that can be shared.

If I can use the "affiliate link" button to share some of that wealth, and also receive recognition for new members arriving through that content, there's more incentive to share it.

Yes, indeed! I have done so to embellish my website articles by referencing a WA posting.
I think you can modify the affiliate link to use your campaign message/greeting...unless that is default, I don't recall, haven't used it for a while...
