The Art of Focus - Dedication to One Business
(picture of green eye)
Hello my Fellow Entrepreneurs,
How is everyone doing on their attention to their business?
I am asking this because I myself have fallen short in the Art of Focus on and off for some time now, for years actually.
There is something special about having the ability of attention.
I remember in my school years finding so many reasons to do something other than giving my studies attention, at least until I started to meditate and learn the Art of Focus.
My mum would chastise me for always starting one craft project only to stop midstream and start a whole new project.

Hence a room full of un finished projects.
As I got older and moved into paid employment I found for a while I was job jumping because of my attention to stay working on jobs with little to know more advancements was testing my attention.
Then in my mid 20's I was fortunate to go into partnership with my Mother Eileen, and we grew a face to face retail jewellery and giftware shops.
I remained focused on growing The Silver Shop for over 6 years with extremely good profits and customer satisfaction and our customers returned and returned, with our business in the 5th year just short of One Million dollars turnover.
Today in the year 2024 I find myself without my mum and her high achieving attitude as my mum sadly passed over with a long struggle with cancer, 14 years ago.
Today I find myself with a new business partner and he happens to be my husband of 7 years.
But once again as I did as a teenager I have found myself neglecting our new business Silverflamze with the same lack of troubling attention deficit attitude.
Even with making sales and getting a good customer following, my Art of Focus is still being distracted with other people's business offers and my own self limiting behaviors of quitting and looking for jobs.
Can I say one thing about this nuisance pesky short fall is that,
One of the best reasons is to stay as a Premium Wealthy Affiliate Member because it is a business grounding station.
Being here in WA you get to refuel on drive, inspiration, passion, goals, courage, determination and much much more in the WA community.
You not only get ideas for business ventures, you get support with growing your own business websites.
So I am back on track with my daily schedule in building my website and I invested in some more jewellery making tools, such as a gas bottle to do fine silver soldering work.

haha the images I created with Image magic in Canva, and it took quite some structuring the sentence to get this far.
Not quite what I look like soldering and the flame is not that big but at any point it is a funny example of me having fun soldering jewellery.
I will keep you all updated on my new reborn mission.
Thanks so much for taking the time to ready my update.
And tell me how you work your Art of Focus pleas in the comments :)
Kind regards

Hi Erica,
All I can say is, "You're not alone." I have an attention deficit as well, and I had to laugh out loud when you talked about starting a new craft project halfway through an already-started project. Sad to say, I am really bad about this and I still have several partially completed projects. One of these days I will get some of them completed.๐
Being a member of Wealthy Affiliate really helps me focus my attention on one project. Not only do you have access to some of the best training and an outstanding community, but I hate to say it, the knowledge that I am spending money for a Premium Membership also helps me stay motivated.
Keep moving forward. I believe you are headed in the right direction.

I can relate, Erica.
I worked and worked on my websites. Traffic started to increase. Made a few sales. Then cancer happened. And I was not able to update my websites.
Post-cancer, I am now rebuilding my websites. It's been months since I have recovered from cancer and started adding content and sharing it. Traffic was bleak initially. It has started to increase but slowly.
With my teaching gigs taking much of my time, it has again affected my websites since I could not update them as much as I would like to.
I am at a point wondering if I should just focus on teaching and my websites be a side gig (done only when I have time).
Oh, and my new book has stalled too.
Tim
Hello Tim,
Yes full time work does not give much room for website building as it is time intense building online business.
I agree with you for needing still that income to come in and support yourself, and part time building could still work when you set up a schedule,
Wishing you all the best for your progress :)
Kind regards
Erica
