I got my first referral!
I got my first referral, and I am so impressed with how easy it is to follow up and provide support! Honestly, I'm a bit embarrassed that I haven't tried sooner.
I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate since 2020. During much of this time, I looked at my membership as a creative playground to learn and experiment rather than a business. It was always something I wanted to do full time, but life... and my corporate job kept me from doing what I really wanted to do. OK. Maybe fear of going out on my own played a part, too. 😉
On June 1, 2024, I was laid off from the best job I ever had, along with my entire team. The moment I found out, I knew it was my opportunity to bet on myself and choose the path of entrepreneurship for the next phase of my career.
With the support of my entrepreneurial husband and the help of my amazing sister, who has been a full time entrepreneur her entire adult life, I am finally steering the rudder of my own boat! I provide digital marketing services to a handful of clients, and I am building a blog to help more people like me start a business through Wealthy Affiliate.
I absolutely love this platform and all the tools we have here, especially the Hubs. In fact, I got my first referral, my sister, after I simply showed her why I love Wealthy Affiliate. As a seasoned entrepreneur, she could see the value right away. I know she will soar with these tools at her finger tips AND with this positive, supportive community. I look forward to helping others find their way here!

Wow, congratulations on your first referral! 🎉 It's incredible to see how you're turning a challenging situation into an opportunity to pursue your passion. Your story is so inspiring, and I love how you've embraced entrepreneurship with the support of your family. Wealthy Affiliate is lucky to have someone like you who genuinely cares about helping others. Keep up the great work—I'm sure this is just the beginning of many more successes to come!
Congrats, Shara! That's excellent news. I've shown and talked about WA to many who can't "see it." it doesn't surprise me that someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit "got it" immediately. Put a notch in the win column!

Wow what a validation of things I hear continuously about follow up and support.
I myself joined just to learn and experiment. It wasn't until the middle of this year that I started actually having intention.
I still have my job but I'm not sure for how long. I'm still living in fear of not having one, but I will cross that bridge when I get there. Until then, I'm still preparing myself with the know how once that line is cut.
I love what you said in the end...
"...as a seasoned entrepreneur, she could see the value right away" < that right there is an audience.
I needed this today. Thank you so much SharaAnn.

So glad to hear this was helpful! WA is a great place to learn and experiment. It's so empowering to build a side hustle here. I think we all live with the underlying fear of losing what we have, even when we feel like our jobs are secure. If we are constantly building a side hustle, we just need to ramp up if something changes. All the best as you continue on your path!
