Thanks to you all for your answers! It looks like a plugin/theme conflict with the latest version of Wordpress.

After disabling two plugins (All In One SEO and Popup Ally) and installing another theme (Generate Press instead of Optimize Press Smart Theme) the problem doesn't occur anymore.

So even if that's not a satisfying solution, at least I have a workaround for now, so I can keep publishing posts.

Interesting that now one else seems to have that problem with the All In One SEO plugin as it is used by a lot of WAers.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction:-)

This could be a plugin conflict contact support on here and let them take a look at it

have you tried adding a spacer under the accordian block

We have never seen a problem like this before, Are these settings from the plugin What happens if you uninstall that plugin. Maybe you could do a browser search and type the name of your plugin and see if there is a browser search blog on it.

Here's a screenshot.

No idea Marc. Never seen that.
Have you tried clearing cache at WA and in your browser?
:-)

Hello WA community,
I just moved my website to WA, which worked like a charm. Now that I have recreated my main email address for the website in WA, I'm not able anymore to

The problem is solved now! I reached out for the site support and they helped me to fix the problem.
I had to provide them with the SPF record of my email marketing service. I didn't know what an SPF record is and I still haven't fully understood, but it has to do with spam protection and preventing people sending emails from domains, that they don't own.
If you face similar problems reach out for the site support, as you won't be able to fix this on your own.
A big THANK YOU for the site support for handling requests in a quick and easy way:-)

Thanks to you all. I'll contact the site support and let you know:-)

We got that same message and had to get help from Site Support.

Menu Websites -> Site support.

Hiya Marc
I would ask Site Support to check this out if I were you. I've not heard of other members having this challenge before - hopefully it's a glitch that is easily fixed.
Blessings

PS Come back and let us all know - just in case someone else encounters the same thing.

I recently wrote an article targeting a particular keyword I researched with the WA Keyword Tool. The Keyword Tool shows 79 monthly searches and very little (almost no) competit

If you use chrome you can open an incognito window to look up ranking.

Thanks Shawn!
I'm using safari. I guess private mode in safari does the same as incognito mode in chrome.

Hmm.. I thought maybe you were only on #1 with the quoted search. And since, like you said, hardly anyone does quoted searches this might have been an explanation.

One other thing I've mentioned somewhere else before. Just trying to eliminate possibilities here: Have you tried searching in a private window? Google apparently even takes into account what you have been searching for and clicking on before when displaying the results.

When I started my site I was completely stoked that most of the articles where on the first page. When I tried again after clearing out the cache and deleting all the cookies.. well.. most of the articles didn't even appear in the first 10 pages or so (and unfortunately some still don't)..

That's a good hint. I didn't know Google takes my recent searches into account. But even in a private window or on my iphone, my site still ranks first. But maybe the number of searches is just too low, as Tommy pointed out.

Yep. That's probably it. And that's probably also why we get reminded about a gazillion times on here at WA to keep at it and keep producing (quality) content.. so that it adds up in the end. (Which is also btw what I should be doing right now.. :)

One other thing: If you haven't registered your site and submitted your articles individually with Bing yet: Go ahead and do that. Takes just 5 minutes and you can only win.

Bing, ok, thanks for another hint, Peter. I will check that out.

Da nicht für. That's what we're all here for.. ;)

Here's a good tutorial

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-submit-your-site-to-bing-and-yahoo

You might also want to check out my comment on that thread. It sure doesn't give that much traffic. But it's at least a nice thing to see to get indexed for a keyword and show up on the first spot on Bing within minutes.

Danke für den Link:-)

Out of curiosity.. since 6 results sounds really low. Just to be sure: Is this the result of a quoted search?

Yes, it's the result of a quoted search. When I search for the keyword without quotes Google shows 308 results, my site still ranking No. 1. Haven't thought about that. This adds to my confusion as very few people do quoted searches. At least not the people I know;-)

Yes, to add to what has already been said, you may have chosen a key word with too little traffic - I have a number of keywords that rank on page 1 like you have, but I know they are such obscure search terms they wont bring me that much traffic. However, irrelevant of that, you have done it and seen the results - id take that and now build on it, where can you get your next chosen key work to rank ? Take what you did, add a new, maybe slightly more searched for keyword, and repeat - that my friend, is the recipe for success ! All the best, Steve

Thanks for the encouragement, Steve!

If you have only six results on and five are pointing to your site you will have trouble converting. There are not enough people searching the keywords you are using. Does that make sense? The volume is just to low.

Yes, this absolutely does make sense.
Thanks steve!

With 79 searches per month that comes to a little over 2 searches per day. Just because someone types the keyword into search does not guarantee they will click on it. Plus there will be other results for them to check out. I hope this is helped you.
Tommy

Searching but not clicking is something obvious I haven't thought about.
Thanks for opening my eyes, Tommy:-)

How many searches do you go for? I applied what Kyle suggested in the Certification Courses (min. 50 searches, max 300 competition).

Not to question your knowledge, but did you put your tracking code in the header or each page? I had a hang up with analytics and had to put the tracking in my header, then it worked.

Hmmm...I've put the code in the footer of my site. I'm using the Page Lines theme and there is a place in the site settings where you can put in the code. This seems to work for another site I own, but I will check that.
Thanks for the info!
